INSTRUCTIONS TO KEY HOLDERS

Alanins to be given from the box nearest the location of the fire.

Do not give an alarm for a fire seen at a ilistance, unless assistance is called for ..

To give an alarm, open the door pull the hook to the bottom of the slot once, and let go. Each box contains a small bell, which, if heard before you pull indicates that an alarm has been previously given, and by listen- ing at the box, you will learn the number of the box from which thu. alarm was given, but in no ease will you pull the hook while the alarm is stricking. After giving the alarm, re- main at the box so as to direct the fireman to the fire. Be sure that you lock the box before leaving it.

Citizens are requested to inform themselves where keys to the signal boxes are kept, signs suitably in- srribed being placed over each box giving the requisite information.

First alarm will be given by strik- ing two or more rounds of box num- her.

Secend alarm will be given by re- peating the first alarm.
