IMPROVED COMPOSITION DRAWING OR ROVING CANS.
FOR USE IN THE MANUFACTURE OF YARNS.

LOWELL, October, 1, 1875.
PATENTED BY PETER LAWSON, MAY 18, 1869.
GENTLEMEN : - I again present for your consideration the Testimony of a number of well-known, reliable, practical manufacturers to the advantages derived by the use of my Patent Improved Com- position Drawing Can, after the many severe trials of five years, of their lightness, elasticity and du- rability. And as a proof that they give perfeet satisfaction, and of their durability, I am happy to state that my orders for the past two years have more than doubled, being largely duplicate orders, made of my improved paper board, from those who have thoroughly proved them for years.
After five years' test I am now prepared to state, that with the improvements I have made lately in my paper, they are now more durable than any Tin Cans. If they fall, get dented, or out of shape, they are so elastie that they at onee spring back to their original form; consequently they are always true on the Turn-table, so that the Presser or Coiler aets accurately. With the double band inside it is impossible to break or make a nole in the Cans, or destroy them by kicking, or rough usage of any kind.
ยง LOWELL, HIOSIERY MILLS, LOWELL, October 26th, 1875.
HON. PETER LAWSON - Dear Sir: We have a large number of your improved Patent Compo- sition Drawing Cans in our Mils fur over two years. They are light and strong, and as you have
strengthened them at the bottom with your inside band, I am satisfied they will be as durshle as any iron or tin can. Our help invariably use your Paper Cans on account of their lightness and smooth- ness, in preferenee ta the tin cans. I am satisfied, had you been fortunate enough in intrudueing your Improved Drawing Cans with your improved paper at first, instead of your uld paper, that tin and iron eans would now be at a discount, and your Patent Improved Cans universally approved. ENOS O. KINGSLEY, Superintendent.
OFFICE OF THE TREMONT AND SUFFOLK MILLS. LOWELL, March 25th, 1875.
JION. PETER LAWSON - Dear Sir: We have used in our mills your Paper Drawing Cans over four years, and thus far are perfectly satisfied with them in all respeets, on account of their lightness, smoothness, and economy. Your new Improved Paper Cans sent us over twu years ago are much stronger and more durable, better by far than the first cans delivered us; they are superior to tin or iron cans. From experience. I am satisfied your improved kind is the best Drawing Can in use. To show you we are satisfied with them, please make for us eighty-two ears 16 x 36; one hundred and sixteen cans 14 # 36; one hundred and forty eans 12 x 36. Very truly yours, THOMAS S. SHAW, Agent.
OFFICE OF THE TREMONT AND SUFFOLK MILLS, LOWELL, October IIth, 1875.
HON. PETER LAWRON - Dear Sir : I have used your Improved Composition Drawing Cans fur the past three years with perfect satisfaction. I would say that your Cans, with yuur latest improvement in the material and construction, are the best Cans I have ever used. I prefer them to any metal can, and would recommend them to all who wish a light, easily handled, smooth and durable Drawing Can. Yours truly, SAMUEL CHAPIN, Overseer Cardiug, Tremont Corporation.
