EDDY'S PATENT SELF - FEEDING STALLS,

-FOR-

HORSES AND CATTLE.

By means of the above-named invention, the following results are secured :- 1. A Horse may be fed without soiling his mane or foretop with hay seed or oat motes ..... 2. He can receive his hay no faster than it is taken away and eaten ..... 3. Ilg cannot waste a particle of food .... 4. The Stall is abundantly ventilated ..... 5. The cost of construction is less than any other stall .. ... 6. It is a Crib of very great durability ..... 7. The value of an individual Right may be saved annually in the feeding of a single Horse ..... 8. A Horse fed in this Crib is in no danger of becoming a cribber.

With the advantages which this improvement presents, there is no longer an ex- ense for a wasteful and slovenly method of feeding horses and cattle. Greater sim- plieity, greater economy, greater neatness, can hardly be conceived than are real- ized by this invention. The individual who keeps a single horse "cannot afford to do without it. MAYNARD & NOYES' WRITING INK.

Testimony of Parties who have used it for more than a Quarter of a Century.

REGISTRY OF DEEDS OFFICE, Boston, Jan. 10, 1859.

Messrs. MAYNARD & NOYES: Gentlemen,-I am glad that longer use of your Writing Ink enables me to repeat the testimony given in its favor many years ago. I have used it in this office thirty-seven years, and my oldest rec- ords are as legible and black as when first written. This rare quality for per- manence renders it invaluable for State and County Records, and all mercan- tile purposes where it is important that the writing should remain legible and unchanged in color by the lapse of time. HENRY ALLINE, Register of Deeds.

MAYNARD & NOYES' COPYING INK.

This Ink yields a copy as distinct and perfect as the original. It also con- bines all the properties of our Writing Ink, for which it can be substituted.

MAYNARD & NOYES' CARMINE INK.

This article is a beautiful red or crimson color, and surpassingly brilliant and rich. It is free from sediment, and will not mould, fade or turn dark by ex- posure to the air.

Elliott's Patent Spring Bed.

THIS IS THE BEST, CHEAPEST AND MOST DURABLE BED IN USE,

AND FOR COMFORT THERE IS NOTHING OF THE KIND EVER INVENTED THAT CAN BEGIN TO EQUAL IT.

The following are a few of the many advantages which it possesses :- The slats ex- tending the whole length of the Bedstead, give the bed when made up a square and even appearance. The two outside slats are stronger than the inner ones, being sop- ported by all the springs, and give a feeling of seenrity when lying near the edge, and supports the weight when getting Into it. There is no solid frame work above the beams on which the springs rest to interfere with its comfort. It yields lat. rally as well as perpendicularly. It can be packed for transportation in an exceedingly small space. It has no harhor for vermin. Its comfort, economy and durability will render it indis- pensable to all classes ; and It possesses many other advantages over the bed bottoms heretofore introduced, besides those mentioned above, which will readily appear to per- sons examining it.

I have sold hundreds of these heds in Lowell within the jast two years, and every one who has used them give them their un qualified approval.
