CHEAPEST STEAM HEATER.
Having obtained the right to use Treadway & Warner's Patent Valves and Coup- lings, for putting up T'in Steam Pipe for heating Shops, Factories, etc., we are pre- pared to negotiate with any parties who are thinking of heating by Steam.
For exhaust steam it is decidedly better than Iron Pipe, and direct steam can be used as well. It has been in use over ten years, and is a success. Any further in- formation will be given if desired.

TO BOOT & SHOE MANUFACTURERS.
We wish to call your attention to our method of
Drafting Sole Patterns.
One of the greatest difficulties encountered by the manufacturer is the imperfect manner in which Lasts and Dies run together. This could not be otherwise, owing to the fact that patterns have been graded by hand and on a principle differing from the last.
The machine we have in use will graduate Patterns on a perfect principle of pro- portion, both in length and width, and we can warrant every set graded by it. DIES MADE FROM THESE STANDARDS WILL EXACTLY CORRESPOND TO THE LASTS, thus enabling us to produce with accuracy results which have hitherto been but imperfectly produced.
We have also
Town's Last Machine and Patent Guides,
the best graduating machine in use, and we can assert and are prepared to demonstrate that all lasts made by us are more perfect in every respect than those from any other. manufactory.
Owing to the fact that before the last is turned we make zinc patterns of the same sizes as the patterns by which the dies are made, and mould or crimp them to fit the bottom of the last, and then turn the last to fit the patterns, we can by this means ensure perfect fits and are enabled to give manufacturers the same lasts in width and fullness in two or three years thereafter as correctly as at the start.
We are also Agents for the manufacture of
McComber's Patent Lasts,
for Middlesex County, the best fitting Last made in this country. Application for license to use the same should be made to Joel McComber, 102 Washington Street, Boston.
For Lasts or Sole Patterns, address

CANNOT BE EQUALLED FOR
Economy in Water,
Perfection in Workmanship,
Durability and Power.
The only Turbine adapted to variable streams. By the independent and simul- taneous opening of the gates in sets, it adjusts the supply of water to the exact amount of work. The gates give a full opening under all circumstances, and are balanced by the action of the water itself; thus ensuring quick, positive, and easily-controlled gates under a high as well as a low head of water.
The guides are cast-steel, placed stationary between the wheel and gates at the true angle of hydraulic force, and are not varied by the movement of the gates, giving the water the most perfect direction on the buckets.
