Deposits will be credited with four per cent. interest annually, and every five years with a dividend of all the net earnings upon such portion thereof as may have been on deposit for at least one year next preceding the declaration of any such dividend.
It is believed that this Institution offers to all classes as good opportunities for the investment of their savings as can be had anywhere.
The By-Laws provide that no officer, except the Treasurer, shall receive any compensation for services, and the utmost care will be taken to make the inciden- tal expenses as small as possible, so that the depositors may receive very nearly the full amount of all earnings.
The object is to encourage saving and economy by individuals for their own welfare, and for the general good: and, that those whose savings must necessarily be small may enjoy its advantages, it is provided that deposits will be taken of five cents and upwards, not exceeding $1000, to be put on interest at quarter-day, as soon as the amount of three dollars shall have been deposited.
