TOWN CLERKS, 1662-1887.

The records of the town for eight years after incorporation are very imperfect ; but, as the first entries are in the handwrit- ing of Robert Tucker, the presumption is that he was the first Town Recorder.

The answer of the General Court to the petition for incor- poration bearing date of May 7, 1662, is recorded by " Robert Tucker, Recorder of Milton."
