Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

Then in the upper grades, where naturally the perception and correction of faults occur, comes the development of a working knowledge of appearance drawing with a practical knowledge of how to proceed. Here I am trying to work along the lines that need most strengthening and to give the classes the salient points needed to easily and freely express their ideas.

In the High School are both the free hand and mechani- cal classes. In the free hand drawing the work is going well, and I am pleased with the results, which show thought and care. Too much stress cannot be placed on the mechanical drawing, for in these days the study itself, as well as the training it gives is of great importance.

23

SCHOOL REPORT.

Wherever it has been possible in my course I have tried to put the drawing to a practical and useful purpose, thereby bringing a working out of the ideas expressed and lending a personal interest to the work.

With the co-operation and interest already shown, I am sure the work will continue to progress.

Respectfully submitted,

EDITH BULKELEY AMES.

January, 1909.
