MEETING TO FILL VACANCY ON BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TOWN LIBRARY.

Milford, March 25, 1925.


At a joint meeting of the Board of Trustees of Town Library and the Board of Selectmen held on the above date for the purpose of filling the vacancy on the Board of Trustees of Town Library caused by the death of Nathaniel F. Blake, the said boards proceeded as follows :


Thomas J. Quirk, trustee of Town Library, was chosen as chairman.


Dennis J. Sullivan, town clerk, was chosen as sec-' retary.


A ballot was taken for the choice of trustee. Whole number of ballots cast, seven, all of which were for Charles A. Blaisdell.


Charles A. Blaisdell was declared elected to said office.


Philip Cenedella, Thomas F. Malloy, John E. Higgis- ton, selectmen, and Thomas J. Nugent, George W. Wood, Thomas J. Quirk and Stephen J. Reynolds, trustees of Town Library, were present and voted.

WARRANT FOR SPECIAL TOWN MEETING AUGUST 3, 1925. COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.

To Either Constable in the Town of Milford, in said County, Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qualified by law to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Town, on Monday, the third day of August, A. D. 1925, punctually at eight o'clock in the evening, to act upon the following articles, namely :


Article 1. To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting.


Article 2. To hear and act upon the report of any committees of said Town.


Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to accept and adopt a by-law or by-laws to provide for the limitation of particular classes of buildings to specified districts or zones, as provided for in General Laws, Chapter 40, Sec- tion 25, and amendments thereto, or take any action in relation thereto.


Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, or to appropriate a sum of money for im-

proving the unsanitary conditions in the Charles River valley, or take any action in relation thereto. .


Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to make appli - cation to the General Court of Massachusetts for the pas- sage of an act to authorize precinct voting, representativo town meetings, the election of town meeting members, a referendum, and an annual moderator in the Town of Milford. or take any action in relation thereto.


Little 6. To see if the Town will vote to accept Sec- tion 120 A of Chapter 94 of the General Laws of Macsa- chusetts, and establish as a further fee thereunder the sum of fifty cents for each animal slaughtered under such license, or take any action in relation thereto.


And you are hereby directed to serve This Warrant by posting up attested copies thereof at each of the Public Meeting Houses and at the Post Office in said Town ; also cause an attested copy to be published in The Milford Daily News, a newspaper published in said Town, Two Sabbaths at least before the time set for said meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING, AUGUST 3, 1925. COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.

Milford, August 3, 1925.


In pursuance to the foregoing warrant the inhab- itants of the Town of Milford, qualified by law to vote in elections and in town affairs, met in Town Hall in said town on Monday the third day of August, A. D. 1925, punctually at eight o'clock in the evening and were called to order by the Town Clerk, who read the warrant and the officer's return thereon.


Under Article 1, the town clerk was instructed to cast one ballot for John T. McLoughlin, for moderator, the vote being unanimous. The clerk did as instructed and John T. McLoughlin was declared elected moderator.


The moderator was sworn to a faithful performance of his duties by the town clerk.


Article 2. Voted : To pass over the article.


Article 3. Voted : To pass over the article.


Article 4. The Finance Committee recommended that $10,000.00 be appropriated for the purpose men- tioned in the article.


Voted: That the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $10,000.00 for the purpose of improving the

unsanitary conditions in the Charles River Valley, the money to be expended by the Town Board of Health in carrying out the plans of the Milford Reclamation Dis- trict under the direction of the State Reclamation Board, and the town treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow said sum and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, said bonds or notes to be payable in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than five years from the date of issue of the first bond or note, or at such earlier dates as the treasurer and the selectmen may determine. Yes, 170 ; No, 0.


Matthew J. Carbary, Chester F. Williams, Fred M. Daniels and William J. Corbett were appointed by the moderator, tellers to count a rising vote on the question.

WARRANT FOR SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OCTOBER 28, 1928.

In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qualified by law to vote in elections and in town aff irs, to meet at the Town Hall in said Town, on Wednesday, the 28th day of October, A. D. 1925, punc- tually at eight o'clock in the evening, to act upon the fol- lowing articles, namely :


Article 1. To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting.


Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to amend that portion of the vote passed under Article 4 of the warrant for the special town meeting held on August 3, 1925, which provides for the borrowing of $10,000.00 for im- proving the unsanitary conditions in the Charles River Valley, so as to read as follows :


Voted: That there be raised and appropriated the sum of $10,000.00 for the purpose of improving the un- sanitary conditions in the Charles River Valley, the money to be expended by the Board of Health in carrying out the plans of the Milford Reclamation District under the direction of the State Reclamation Board, and that to meet said appropriation, there be appropriated from the surplus war bonus fund, so-called, the sum of $3,600.00, and the treasurer, with the approval of the selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow the sum of $6,400.00 and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, said bonds or notes to be payable in accordance with the pro- visions of Section 19 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than five years from the date of issue of the first bond or note, or at such earlier dates as the treasurer and selectmen may determine.

Pursuant to the within Warrant I have notified the inhabitants of the Town of Milford herein described, to meet at the time and place and for the purposes within mentioned, by posting up attested copies of this warrant at each of the Public Meeting Houses and at the Post Office in said Town, and I have likewise caused an attested copy of this warrant to be published in the Milford Daily News, a newspaper printed in said Town, two Sabbaths before the time set for said meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OCTOBER 28, 1925. COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.

Milford, October 28, 1925.


In pursuance to the foregoing warrant the inhab- itants of the Town of Milford, qualified by law to vote in elections and in town affairs, met in Town Hall in said Town on Wednesday, the twenty-eighth day of October, . A. D. 1925, and were called to order by the town clerk, who read the warrant and the officer's return thereon.


Under Article 1, the meeting made choice of John T. McLoughlin as moderator, the vote being unanimous.


Article 2. Voted : That the Town amend that portion of the vote passed under Article 4 of the warrant for the special Town meeting held on August 3, 1925, which pro- vided for the borrowing of $10,000.00 for improving the unsanitary conditions in the Charles River Valley, so as to read as follows:


Voted: That there be raised and appropriated the sum of $10,000.00 for the purpose of improving the un- sanitary conditions in the Charles River Valley, the money to be expended by the Board of Health in carrying out the plans of the Milford Reclamation District under. :: the direction of the State Reclamation Board, and that to meet said appropriation there be appropriated from the surplus war bonus fund, so called, the sum of $3,600.00,, , and the treasurer, with the approval of the selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow the sum of $6,400.00 . : and to issue bonds or notes to the Town therefor, said bonds or notes to be payable in accordance with the pro- visions of Section 19 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than five years from the date of issue of the first bond or note, or at such earlier dates as the treasurer and selectmen may determine.

To Either Constable of the Town of Milford, in said County, Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qualified by law to vote in elections and town affairs, to meet at Dewey Hall, in said Town, on Monday, the 21st Day of December, A. D. 1925, punctually at eight o'clock in the evening, to act upon the following articles, namely :


Article 1. To choose a moderator to preside at saïd " meeting.


Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) from the Mother's Aid Appropriation, Poor Department, to the ' General Appropriation, Poor Department, or take any action in relation thereto.
