WARRANT FOR THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING, MARCH 1, 1926. COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.

To either Constable in the Town of Milford, in said County, Greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town, qualified by law to vote in elections and in town af- fairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Town, on Monday, the first day of March, A. D., 1926, punctually at 5.45 o'clock in the forenoon, to act upon the following articles, namely: -
(The polls may be closed at four o'clock in the afternoon on said day of meeting )
Article 1. To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting.
Article 2. To choose all necessary towu officers, a town clerk, town treasurer, tax collector, auditor, three selectmen, highway surveyor, (for one year), one assessor, (three years), two members of the school committee (three years), one over- seer of the poor (three years), one member of the board of health (three years), one sewer commissioner (three years), two) trustees of town library (three years), one trustee of town library (one year to fill vacancy), two trustees of Vernon Grove. Cemetery (three years), one park commissioner (three years), one member of the planning board (three years), tree warden (one year), and five constables (one year) to be voted for on ballots prepared and furnished in aocordance with the provisions of Chapter 5t of the General Laws of Massachu- setts, and acts in amendment thereof and addition thereto.
Article 3. To hear and act upon the reports of the select- men, town clerk, town treasurer, tax collector, auditor, asses-

sors, overseers of the poor, sewer commissioners, school com- mittee, trustees of town library, trustees of Vernon Grove Cemetery, park commissioners, highway surveyor, chief of police, engineers of the fire department, town solicitor, inspec- tor, of wires, inspector of plumbing, inspector of animals, sealer of weights and measures, an l'any other officers or com- mittees of said town.
Article 4. To raise and appropriate such sum or sums of money as may be necessary to defray town expenses for the financial year ending December 31, 1926 ..
Article 5. "To determine when all taxes for the year 1926 : shall become due and payable, the time from which interest. on unpaid taxes of sail year shall be charged, and the compen- sation of the collector of taxes for the year ensuing.
Article 6. To see if the town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of Four Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($13).00) towards defraying the expenses of Memorial Day.
Article. 7. To see if the town will vote to authorize the treasurer, with the approval of the selectmen, to borrow money on and after January i, 1927, in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1927.
Article 8. To see if the town will vote to authorize the selectmen to take charge of all legal proceedings for or against the.town ..

To see if the town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of Thirteen HundredSeventy Dollars and ten cents ($1,370 10) for the purpose of paying the County of Worcester the sum assessed for: the care of tuberculosis pa- tients in the said County, or take any action in relation there- to.

with the provisions of, and for the purposes of Chapter 128, General Laws of Massachusetts, for the purpose of demon- stration work in agriculture, home economics, or Boys, and Girls Club Work, under the direction of the agent or instruc- tors, or the trustees co-operating with the local town director, or pass any vote or votes in relation thereto.
Article 16, To see if the town will vote to choose a di- rector in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 128, Gen -: eral Laws of Massachusetts, or pass any vote or votes in rela- tion thereto.
Article 17. To see if the town will vote to accept and al- low the report of the Selectmen on the laying out of a further extension of Sumner street, and raise and appropriate the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for said street, or take any action in relation thereto.
Article 18. To see if the town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of Ninety Dollars ($90 00) to pay land dam- ages to John. Tumolo, caused by the, laying out of a further extension of Sumner, street.

ANNUAL TOWN MEETING MARCH 1, 1926.

At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Mil- ford, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, holdeu this first day of March A. D. 1926, at 5.45 o'clock in the fore- noon, the said inhabitants proceeded as follows :-
The meeting was called to order by the town clerk, ivho proceeded to read the warrant.
After the reading of Articles 1 and 2, it was voted to dispense with the reading of the remainder of the articles in the warrant, after Article 2, until the date of the adjourned town meeting to be determined later at this meeting.

The clerk read the remainder of the warrant after Arti- cle 35, and the officer's return. thereon.
Article 1. A ballot was taken for a choice for moderator, the names of those voting being checked on the voting lists.
Raphael Marino, George V. Larkin, Louis G. V.esperi, James E: Birmingham: were appointed; tellers by the town clerk to receive, sort and count the ballots cast for moderator.
The result of the ballot was as follows : Whole number of ballots cast, 245. John T. McLoughlin had 154. L. Blaine Libbey had 91.
John T. McLoughlin was declared elected moderator, and sworn to a faithful performance of his duties by the town clerk.
The ballot box used in elections was examined and found to be empty.
The register on the box was set at 0000, the box locked, and the keys delivered to John.J. Moloney, constable. in at- tendance at said meeting ;.
Packages said. to contain:6060 official ballots, specimen ballots; cards of instructions and penalty card's were delivered to the moderator by the town clerk.
The ballots were then placed in the possession of the bal - lot clerks.
All the legal requirements having been; complied with the polls were declared open at: 6.33 o'clock A .. M.
Voted : To close the polls at 8 o'clock P. M.
Harold K. Bullard and James J. Connors, tellers appoint- ed by the selectmen to check voting lists at the polls, were sworn to a faithful performance of their duties by the town clerk.
Charles W. Gould and Benjamin J. Clancey, ballot clerks, and J. Roy Kerr and George V. Larkin, deputy ballot clerks, appointed by the selectmen, were sworn to a faithful perform- ance of their duties by the town clerk.

During the voting the ballot box was opened, by the unan- imous consent of the moderator and "the town clerk, five times- for the purpose of taking out, sorting and counting the bal. lots, first at 12 40 o'clock p. M when the box registered 1200, then at 3.10 o'clock p. M. when it registered 2050, then at 4.40 o'clock p M. when it registered 25. 0, then at 5 54 o'clock P .M. when it registered 3156, then at; the close of the polls, 8 o'clock P. M , when it registered 4174. "
