MACADAM ROAD.
In compliance with the vote of the town, the Selectmen purchased the machinery to operate the crusher loaned the town by the State Highway Commission, at an expense of $1124 for the plant complete, ready for work. The sum of $1200 has been paid to the farmers and others for stone delivered at the crusher; the sum of $2324 has been ex- pended in straightening and widening the road, grading the road bed, crushing the stone, delivering it on the road, roll- ing and watering, making a total expense of $3524. Of this sum $150 has been paid the town by the Palmer and Monson Street Railway Company for their share of the expense of widening the road, making the net cost to the town $3374 for 5540 feet of road, exclusive of the cost of crushing plant, which is now in good condition.
