Report of the Selectmen.

The Selectmen respectfully submit to the inhabitants of the town their report of expenditures for the town year just closed. It will be noticed that the contingent account has been overdrawn. In explanation the Selectmen would say that the overdraft was made necessary by reason of the fact that the Commissioner of Public Records, Mr. Swan, in the early part of the year directed the purchase of a new safe for the keeping of the current records of the town in the office of the Town Clerk, and by reason of the further fact that the expense of fighting forest fires approved by the forest fire ward during the year has been unusually large.
