Twelfth Annual Report
OF THE
Trustees of Memorial Hall.
The annual examination of the property by the Trustees has shown everything about the building and Library to be in good order. Thanks to the donation of Mr. John Byers, of which full mention was made in the Report of last year, the Trustees have no pressing wants to urge in their Report.
The Library is every year increasing in value, and offers to all who have the desire for improvement an inexhaustible fund of good reading. It has been the aim of the Library Committee to add the best books in every department. It will greatly aid them in the matter of selection if those who use the Library will, without fail, make application for all books which they have sought, but failed to find, on its shelves. That every facility may be afforded to those who desire to make use of the more substantial books, the privilege of taking out more than one book will be allowed to citizens of the town who are studying any subject with a view to writ- ing. To acquire such a privilege it will be necessary for a written application to be made to the Trustees stating the subject of study and the number of books desired ; and all books thus loaned will be liable to recall whenever asked for by others.
For further particulars of the year's work we refer the reader to the full report of our pains-taking Librarian.
Respectfully submitted,
JOSEPH W. SMITH, FRANCIS H. JOHNSON,
