The motion offered by Mr. Colbert under consideration, viz: Moved that the Selectmen are hereby in- structed to enforce the liquor laws so called and to utilize the Night Police for this work. If a conviction of any person illegally selling intoxicating liquors is secured by one not a member of the Night Police force the Selectmen are hereby instructed to appoint another officer in place of the Night Policeman in whose Precinct said violation occurred.
Voted to indefinitely postpone the foregoing motion.

Said seven thousand (7,000) dollars to be used by the Water Commissioners for the purchase of water meters and the Water Department is hereby instructed to pay to the Town Treasurer from its incoming water rates one thousand (1000) dollars each year with interest not to exceed five

Art. 50. Voted that the Town hereby waives any right it may have in and to the three thousand dollar legacy in the will of Charles E. French late of Boston, given by him to be held in trust to care for the older part of the burial ground in front of the late Dr. Storrs Church in Braintree, and consents that said legacy may be paid over to the Braintree First Parish Ceme- tery Association.
Art. 4. Voted to accept the report of the Town Officers for 1906.
Voted that the Moderator appoint an appropriation committee of fifteen for the ensuing year: Hon. A. E. Avery, C. O. Miller, George E. Fogg, Charles G. Jordan, Walter C. Edson, Frank W. Voted that the Town extend to the retiring appropriation com- mittee, its thanks for their faithful services, the same to be com- municated to the chairman by the Town Clerk.
Voted to instruct the Selectmen to cause copies of the By- Laws relating to bicycles, to be posted in conspicuous places about Town, and that they be asked to look up the law relating to speed of automobiles.
Art. 35. Voted $430 for the Electric Light Sinking Fund be paid out of the revenue of the Electric Light Department.
Art. 6. Voted that any State tax paid to the Town not here- tofore appropriated shall be used on the highways.
Voted to appropriate in the aggregate $103,968 73-100 and that $96,538 73-100 be raised by taxation.

Article 1. By ballot with the use of the check lists Mr. John Kelley was chosen Moderator and was sworn by the Town Clerk.
Art. 2. Voted that the town accept the legacy of two thousand dollars given to it in trust in the will of Charles E. French late of Boston deceased, upon the terms set forth in said will.
Voted that the annual income from the Charles E. French trust fund or such part as the School Committee may deem neces- sary, be expended as provided in said French's will under the direction of the School Committee of the Town in the providing of silver medals to be distributed for the best scholarship in the public, high and grammar schools of the Town. Such authority in the School Committee to continue until revoked by the Town.
Art. 3. Voted that the town release for the sum of one dol- lar, to Susan E. Bullard, all its right, title, and interest in and to a lot of land with the buildings thereon, situated on the West side of Central Street in Braintree being lot No. 31 on Plan of S. W. Hollis which plan is recorded with Norfolk Deeds in Plan Book 11, Plan 472, and the Board of Selectmen are hereby authorized to sign, execute and deliver such deed and papers as may be necessary.
Art. 4. Voted to appropriate for the support of the Fire De- partment the sum of $319 26-100. Fifty-eight votes in the affirma- tive.
Art. 5. Voted to appropriate for maintenance of the Fire Alarm the sum of $100. Sixty-two votes in the affirmative.
Art. 6. Voted to appropriate for miscellaneous expenses the sum of $600. Fifty-six votes in the affirmative.
Art. 7. Voted to indefinitely postpone.
Art. 8. Voted to appropriate for the use of the Board of Health the sum of $200. Fifty-four votes in the affirmative.
Art. 9. Voted to appropriate for the Tree Warden's Depart- ment the sum of $1,000. Sixty-three votes in the affirmative.
Art. 10. Voted to appropriate the sum of $2,000 to extend the water mains in Hobart Avenue, Sherbrooke Avenue, May Street, Ash Street, Union Street, and Howard Court, and the Water Com- missioners are hereby instructed to extend the water mains in the above named streets. Sixty-six voted in the affirmative.
Art. 11. Voted that the revenues from the sale of electricity to private consumers be appropriated and applied to the payment of the annual expenses of operation, maintenance and repairs of the plant. Fifty-six votes in the affirmative.
Art. 12. Voted that the Board of Selectmen, Treasurer and Water Commissioners meet and devise ways and means to finance

the appropriations made under Articles 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 and present any amount unpaid to the next annual meeting.

In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Braintree, qualified to vote in Elections therein to meet at the Polling Places in their respective Precincts, to wit:
Polling Place in Precinct No. 1, Town Hall.
Polling Place in Precinct No. 2, Hose House, Hollis Avenue.
Polling Place in Precinct No. 3, Hose House, Allen Street.
On Tuesday, the fifth day of November, 1907, at 6 o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to bring into the Wardens of their re- spective Precincts their votes on the Official Ballot for Gov- ernor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, At- torney-General, Councillor, Senator, one Representative in the General Court, County Commissioner, two Associate Commis- . sioners, District Attorney, Sheriff.
The polls will be kept open until one o'clock in the after- noon.
You are directed to serve this warrant by posting true and attested copies thereof in not less than three public places in each Precinct in said Town, seven days at least before the said fifth day of November, 1907, and by publishing the same once in the Braintree Observer-Reporter. Hereof fail not, and make due re- turn of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Selectmen before the time of said election. In accordance with the foregoing warrant the voters assem- bled in the several Precincts to cast their ballots for the several State and County Officers called for in the warrant and also to vote yes or no on the proposed Constitutional amendment.

Precinct Three. The following Election Officers were sworn by the Warden: Louis F. Bates, Clerk; William J: Orr, John A. Ryan, Sumner Vinton, August Johnson, Thomas J. F. Dalton. Edward Flood.
The Official Ballots were delivered to each of the Wardens from the Town Clerk's Office by a Town Constable and a receipt taken for the same. The Polls were opened in each Precinct at six o'clock A. M. and were closed as follows: Precinct One at one o'clock and thirty minutes P. M. Precinct Two at one o'clock and five minutes P. M. Precinct Three at one o'clock P. M.
The votes were counted, record made of the same, the re- sult declared in each Precinct, the Ballots, Check Lists etc., sealed according to law, the returns forwarded to the Office of the Town Clerk. The returns were then opened canvassed by the Board of Selectmen and Town Clerk and the result of the total vote public- ly announced.
