TOWN OF BRAINTREE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING


MONDAY, MARCH 20, 1961


Pursuant to a Warrant duly issued, the Annual Town Meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Braintree, represented by their duly elected and qualified Town Meeting Members, was held in the Brain- tree Town Hall on Monday, March 20, 1961.


The meeting was called to order at 7:50 o'clock in the evening by the Moderator, Mr. E. Curtiss Mower.


Prayer for Divine Guidance was offered by Rev. Francis C. An- derson of All Souls Universalist-Unitarian Church, Braintree.


Newly elected Town Meeting Members were sworn in by the Town Clerk.


There were 208 Town Meeting Members present.


The Moderator declared a quorum present.


The following tellers were appointed by the Moderator to serve during the course of the evening.

UNANIMOUSLY VOTED. The election of John J. Canavan, H. Irving Charnock, Robert P. Gray, Edward W. Jennings, Otis B. Oak- man, Jr., Gordon E. Trask and Carroll D. Welch as Trustees of the Braintree School Fund for a term of three years.


UNANIMOUSLY VOTED. The election of Dominic F. Diauto, Matthew McCusker and George A. Williams as Measurers of Wood and Weighers of Hay.


UNANIMOUSLY VOTED The election of Daniel A. Maloney, Shelley A. Neal and John C. Pafford as Measurers of Lumber.

ARTICLE 3. Authorizing Treasurer to borrow in anticipation of 1961 revenue.


That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1961 and to issue a note or notes therefor payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with the provisions of Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.

SO VOTED That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1962 and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with the provisions of Section 17, Chapter 44, of the General Laws.


ARTICLE 5. Amendment of Schedule B of the Salary Adminis- tration Plan, Police and Fire Group.


That Schedule B of the Salary Administration Plan, Police and Fire Group, be amended by substituting the minimum and maximum. salaries as follows for those groups now in effect under the plan:
