Voted :- That the yards of persons chosen Field Drivers shall be town pounds so long as they remain in office.


Appropriated $100 to repair concrete walks.


George R. Sampson for the committee made the following report :


Your committee have not had time to make such investi- gations as will warrant them in making a complete report. Certain things have been agreed upon. We recommend that

all the gas meters be inspected, those worth repairing be repaired, the others thrown out and replaced by new ones, and that all electric lighting be metered.


The Committee's report was accepted and the committee instructed to make such further investigations as may be necessary in order to present to the town some practical method of complying with the provisions of Sections 21 and 22 of Chap. 34, R. L. : that their duties be enlarged to in- clude a complete investigation into the condition and man- agement of the Gas Plant to the end that the citizens may know what is necessary to be done to put the plant into per- manently paying condition ; that they have access to the books and records of the Electric Light Commission, and that they have authority in the conduct of their investigations to visit such places and employ such advice as, in their opinion, will facilitate their duties, and that they report at a subse- quent meeting.


Lyman P. Thomas, Daniel G. Joy, Jr. and George E. Wood were added to the committee.


The $1500 voted for Arc Lamp and extension of street lights was voted to be raised by two notes of $750 each due respectively Nov. 1, 1906 and Nov. 1, 1907 and the Treasurer with the approval of the Electric Light Commis- sioners was authorized to issue the same.


The following Committee on Appropriations to serve for the next year was chosen.

Voted :- That this committee shall hold hearings, have power to request heads of departments to appear before them, fix upon and recommend amount to be appropriated, which recommendations shall be printed on slips and distributed with the Town Reports, that the committee have power to fix upon times and places, when and where they shall hold their meetings and that when the recommendation is made these recommendations shall be acted upon in open town meeting.


Voted :- To raise the sum of $70,607.34 and such other sums as may be necessary to pay the State and County taxes, to be assessed, committed and collected in accordance with the By-Laws of the town.

It was voted :- To add to the above sum $750 for a note due March 1, 1906, and $60 for interest on two notes issued March 1, 1905, for $750 each.


SPECIAL TOWN MEETING, DECEMBER 16, 1905


Warren B. Stetson was chosen Moderator and sworn.


Voted :- To accept and allow the layout of Tispaquin st. between Wareham street and Fall Brook as a town way as laid out by the Selectmen. To accept the layout of Sumner avenue as a town way as made by the Selectmen.


Appropriated $200 for care and repair of town hall.


Appropriated $300 for incidental expenses - both to be added to the tax of 1906. The Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen was authorized to hire the money at a rate of interest not to exceed 4% .
