interest on a loan for reservoir construction, of $10,000, and a · margin remains of not less than $1,200.

Expenses.

The sum of $8,521.71 paid in 1879 on pump account is in- cluded in the report of expenses for 1880, and the total of pay- ments, including current expenses, amounts to $25,299.40.

The cost of pumping machinery, pump house, coal shed, grading of the grounds and putting the premises in creditable condition, together with furniture, engineer's and machinist's tools, is $13,789.04, exceeding the amount placed at the digr posal of the Commissioners for this purpose in the sum of $1,133.91, which overdraft may be cancelled by the receipts of 1881, the estimate for the current expenses being $1,800 less than the estimated income. No appropriation was made at the last annual Spring meeting other than $100 for stand pipes, and the pipe extensions, repairs and improvements at the South Ponds, and placing of the check valve, absorbed the income that remained after payment of general expenses and cost of pumping.
