VOTE OF LINN.

The result caused no surprise, and, although the Greenbackers were well satisfied with the vote in the city, they were thoroughly dis- gusted with- the "outside returns." Nathan Clark disappointed his Lynn sup- porters greatly, running more than 800 votes behind his ticket in this city. A more sorry looking set would be hard to find than the Greenbackers last evening. The rote was . the largest ever thrown. Business, as a gen-

eral thing,

was suspended during dis-

the day, and there were

no

turbances throughout the city. All the Green- back Representatives throughout the city were clected, and butler recorved a good ma- jority. The Republicans had a gala time last evening. The following are the full returns : FOR GOVERNOR.

: Possibility of a Contested Election in Spring-

field.

(Special Despatch to The Boston Globe. 1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., November 7 .- It is possible that the election of. Leonard Clark of this city (Rep.) as County Commissioner may be con- ,tested by Lawson Sibley of this city (Dem.) In Chicopee 132 Greenbackers voted a ticket bearing the name of "I .. Clark of Springfield," for County Commissioner, and, as there is another L. Clark in this city, the Democrats claim that these votes should not be counted

are ready to affirm that it was their intention to vote for the Republican nominee for County Com- missioner, and the courts have held that it is the intention of the voters which is to decide all ques- tions of this kind. Should these 132 votes be 189 ; counted for Clark, he will be elected by seventy- 9 two plurality, but if they are not counted for him $ Sibley {Dem.) will be elected by sixty plurality. 12L 'The maiter will be decided by the Board of County Examiners, which is composed of the Judge and Register of Probate and the Clerk of the Courts, . Fall of whom are Republicans.

The result of the election in this State on Tues- day is now pretty definitely known in all its details. The vote for Governor, with only eight towns to hear from, is as follows:

Talbot, 134,103; Butler, 108.787; Abbot, 9803; Miner, 1977. Talbot's plurality, 25,321.

The Congressional delegation remains the same as reported yesterday, with the Sixth District still in doubt. The returns as published show a plu- rality of only forty-one votes for Doctor Loring, and as Mr. Boynton has petitioned for a recount it is not at all improbable that it will show a differ- ent result.

The Senate is largely Republican, but the House will contain more than its usual quota of Demo- trats, Greenbackers and Independents. The follow- ing returns will show the voles of those towns Ellis, 41; French, 12.

which failed to report in season for yesterday's edition:

The following additional returns of the vote in the Fourth Councillor District make the totals as follows:

Lane, 14.033: McLean, 17,227: Cushing, 118. Mc- Lean's plurality is increased by 799, giving him a plu- rality of 3194.
