WARRANT FOR A SPECIAL TOWN MEETING, DECEMBER 1, 1887.
NORFOLK, SS. To either of the Constables of the Town of Quincy, in said County, GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Quincy, qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Quincy, on Thursday, Dec. 1, 1887, at 7.30 o'clock, P. M., to act on the following articles, viz : -
ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator.
ART. 2. To see if the town will petition the General Court to pass an Act to incorporate the City of Quincy, and appoint a Committee to represent the Town in support of said petition before the General Court, or any Committee thereof.
Hereof fail not, but make return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, unto the Town Clerk, on or before the day of said meeting.
Given under our hands at Quincy, this twenty-first (21) day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Pursuant to the within warrant, I have notified the inhabitants of the Town of Quincy, herein described, to meet at the time and place, and for the purposes within mentioned, by posting up attested copies of this warrant at seventy or more public places in said town nine days before the time set for said meet- ing, and I have likewise caused the substance of said warrant to be published in the Quincy Patriot and Quincy Advertiser, two newspapers printed in said town of Quincy.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING.
A meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Quincy was held pursuant to the foregoing warrant, Dec. 1, 1887, at 7.30 o'clock P. M.
Chose William G. A. Pattee for Moderator.
Voted, That the Moderator of this meeting is hereby instructed to petition the General Court, on behalf of the inhabitants of the Town of Quincy, to pass an act to erect and constitute a city government in said Town of Quincy, and to grant to the in- habitants thereof such powers, privileges, and immunities, not repugnant to the Constitution, as the General Court shall deem necessary or expedient for the regulation and government thereof, and to prescribe the manner of calling and holding public meetings of said inhabitants, in wards or otherwise, for the election of officers under the Constitution, and the manner of returning the votes given at such meetings.
Voted, That a committee of twenty-five be appointed by the Moderator, himself to be one of the number, to represent the inhabitants of the town in support of such petition before the General Court, or any committee thereof.
Voted, That such committee of twenty-five is hereby in- structed to endeavor to procure the passage of such act of in- corporation in the form of the draft published in the Quincy Patriot of Nov. 26, 1887, subject to such alterations, not materially changing the same, as the committee may see fit to make.
The Moderator appointed the following committee under the above vote : -
