To Francis W. Clark, Constable of the Town of Saugus, Greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Saugus, qualified to vote in Town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, Saugus, on Wednesday, the seventeenth day of April, A. D. 1895, at eight o'clock P. M., to act on the fol- lowing Articles, viz. :---
Art. I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
Art. 2. To hear and act on reports of Committees.
Art. 3. To see if the Town will rescind any or all votes or any portion thereof, passed by it at the special Town Meeting

held December 5, 1894, in relation to a new School House in Ward 2, or in relation to acquiring land as a site therefor.
Art. 4. To take such action as shall be deemed best for the building of a new School House in Ward 2, including the acquisition of a suitable site therefor, either through the pur- chase or taking of new land; and to make an appropriation for the carrying out of the foregoing purposes, the money to be raised in whole or in part by borrowing money, and pledging the credit of the Town therefor, or in part by taxation the current year; also to authorize the Treasurer to issue under the provisions of Chapter 98, of the Acts of 1895, the bonds, note or script of the Town, for such amount and on such terms as may be determined or authorized at the meeting.
Art. 5. To see if the Town will vote sell, exchange or dispose of a piece of land on the east side of the "Old Town Hall," referred to in report of "Committee on new School House" submitted at the Town Meeting, held December 5, 1894, or take any action relating to said land.
Art. 6. To appoint such committee or committees as may be deemed best to carry out any or all of the purposes set forth in the foregoing articles.
Art. 7. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of ($500) five hundred dollars for the celebration of July 4, next. One feature to include the dedication of the Soldiers' Monu- ment, and choose a committee for the same, in pursuance of a petition of J. E. Graves, Thomas Newhall, Charles E. Mans- field, H. A. Parker and others.
Art. 8. To see if the Town will vote to reimburse H. A. Nowell for water pipes laid on Belmont Street, Saugus, by the City of Lynn, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.
Art. 9. To see if the Town will vote to give a rebate on taxes for (10) ten years to any manufacturing companies that will come into the Town, on the manufacturing buildings, stock and fixtures.
Art. 10. To see if the Town will vote to put in good repair the sidewalks around the School House in Ward 4, and make an appropriation therefor.
Art. II. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of ($300) three hundred dollars for suitable fire apparatus in Lynn-

hurst, or see what action the Town will take in the matter, in pursuance with a petition of Charles N. Wormstead, J. C. Blaisdell, C. E. Whitaker, James A. Bigelow, C. I. Hitchings, and others.
Art. 12. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the expenses of the Fire Department.
Art. 13. To see what action the Town will take in regard to the disposal of the Old Town Hall Building, and make an appropriation therefor.
Art. 14. To see if the Town of Saugus will make a contract with B. F. Robinson, of said Town, for the removal of the con- tents of vaults and cesspools for the term of five years, begin- ning May 1, 1895.
Art. 15. To see if the Town will reconsider its action taken under Article 25, of the Warrant for the Annual Town Meet- ing, March 11, 1895, whereby voted to appropriate the sum of ($2,500) twenty-five hundred dollars for extension of water pipes.
Art. 16. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to make a water loan of five thousand dollars ($5,000) to be used by the Water Board for extension purposes, or what action the Town will take in the matter.
Art. 17. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for Police, or see what action the Town will take in the matter.
And you are hereby directed to serve this Warrant, by post- ing up attested copies at the usual places, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting; and to distribute copies, as provided by the By-Laws, at least four days before.

Pursuant to the foregoing Warrant the inhabitants of the Town of Saugus met and voted as follows :---
Art. 1 .- Chose Thomas P. Parsons Moderator.
The following persons were appointed and sworn by the Moderator as Tellers: Charles F. Fowler, Edgar B. Oliver, Frank E. Parker, Benjamin F. Calley, Jr.
Art. 2 .- There were no reports of committees.
Art. 3 .- Voted, That all action taken by the Town on Articles. 3 and 4 in the Warrant for a Town meeting held Dec. 5, 1894, relating to the building of a School Building in Ward 2, be and hereby is rescinded and that said Articles be indefinitely postponed.
Voted, That the check list be used in taking the vote under Article 4.
Art 4 .- Voted, That the Town build an eight-room Brick School Building in Ward 2, and that for the purpose of erecting and furnishing said building, acquiring a site for the same, and doing all other acts necessary to complete the same, ready for occupancy, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow, under the provisions of Chapter 98 of the Acts of 1895, a sum not exceeding thirty- six thousand dollars ($36,000) and issue bonds, notes or script of the Town for the same. Provided that no contract be signed until it is figured on a basis to cover all the expenses called for in the report of the Committee on a new School House and to complete the same within the appropriation. Vote: 140 to 65.
Art. 5 .- Voted, to indefinitely postpone any action in regard to disposing of land on east side of "Old Town Hall Building."
Voted, At 10.26 P. M., to adjourn meeting until 8 P. M., Wednesday, April 24, 1895.

Art. 8 .- Voted, To indefinitely postpone any action in regard to reimbursing Horace A. Nowell for water pipes laid on Belmont street.
Art. 9 .- Voted, To indefinitely postpone any action in regard to giving a rebate of taxes to manufacturing concerns locating in Town.
Art 10 .- Voted, That the sum of three hundred and fifty dol- lars ($350) be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of grading, curbing and concreting the sidewalks around the School House in Ward 4.
Art. II .- Voted, To indefinitely postpone any action in regard to fire apparatus at Lynnhurst.
Art. 12 .- Voted, That the sum of five hundred dollars be and hereby is appropriated for the expenses of the Fire Depart- ment. Vote: 117 to 21.
Art. 13 .- Voted, That the removal of the Old Town Hall Building be left to the committee chosen under Article 6, with authority to move the same on to any of the Town land, jf the same, in their judgment, is for the best interest of the Town, in order to procure a suitable site for the new School Building provided for under Article 4, and to make an appropriation of not exceeding three hundred dollars ($300) for the same.
Voted, To take up Article 7.
Art. 7 .- Voted, That the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of celebrating the Fourth of July next, as provided for under Article 7 of the Warrant for this meeting, and that the following gentlemen serve as this committee: Levi G. Art. 14 .- Voted, To indefinitely postpone any action in regard to making a contract with Benjamin F. Robinson for the removal of sewerage.
Art. 15 .- Voted, To reconsider the action of the Town taken under Article 25 of the Warrant for the annual Town meeting, March II, 1895, whereby it voted to appropriate the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500) for the extension of water pipes.
Voted, To indefinitely postpone Article 25.
Art. 16 .- Voted, That the Treasurer be and hereby is author- ized, with the approval of the Selectmen, to make a loan of $2,500 for the purpose of extending the water pipes.

To hear the report of the Commitee chosen to repair the Grammar School Building, in Ward Two (2), and see if the Town will authorize the whole or any part of the repairs and improvements to be made, and make a further appropriation, not exceeding Three thousand dollars ($3,000) for the same.

To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to use the whole or any part of the Court Fines- received by the Town, for the payment of small expenses inci- dent to the maintenance of the Lockup, and for the expense of special services of officers in connection with criminal prosecu- tions ; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.
Art. 6. To see if the Town will change Section I of Article 7 of the Town By-Laws to read as follows: "The Selectmen shall appoint annually, on or before the fifteenth (15th) day of April, a Chief Engineer and two Assistant Engineers, who shall hold office for one year from the first day of May following, unless sooner removed or made vacant. In case of removal, the vacancy for the unexpired part of the term shall be filled within ten days."
Art. 7. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of Three hundred and fifty dollars ($350) to lower the water pipes on Western Avenue, Cliftondale, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.
Art. 8. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for Highways and Bridges, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.
Art. 9. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the purpose of placing an arc light on Mount Vernon Street, between Myrtle and Linwood Streets, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, on petition of I. H. Stearns, J. H. Stokes and others.
