S. Meacom and others.

To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer to place to the credit of the Sinking Fund for payment of the note borrowed for the Cliftondale School House Loan (new) the sum of one thousand and sixty-six dollars and fifty cents ($1,066.50), which was received by the Treasurer for premium on note borrowed for the purpose of building School buildings.


Voted, That the Town authorize the Town Treasurer to place to the credit of the Sinking Fund as called for in Art. 42.


ART. 44. To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to make a contract with the City of Lynn for a future water supply or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.

ART. 45. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for Hydrant Service, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.

ART. 47. To see if the Town will accept the resignation of George W. Caswell from the School Building Committee and fill the vacancy, or to see what action the Town will take in the .matter.

ART. 48. To see if the Town will reimburse Leonor A. Rob- inson for water pipe laid in Leonor and Liberty streets and paid for by her, the Town using the same until the present time. Bill paid in 1889, ninety-two dollars and eighteen cents ($92.18).

To see if the Town will vote to accept that part of Prospect street from Central street westerly a distance of six hundred feet as plan and specification filed with the Town Clerk, agreeable to the petition of George Pranker and others, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.

THURSDAY, April 12, 1906.


The meeting was called to order by the Town Clerk Henry A. Parker, at 8 o'clock P. M. and after the reading of the Warrant by the Town Clerk, Art. I, was taken up.


ART. I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting : Chose Thomas P. Parsons, Moderator who after being duly quali- fied by the Town Clerk, took charge of the meeting.


ART. 2. To hear and act on reports of Committees.


A partial report was read by Investigating Committee on School-Houses under construction.


ART. 3. To see if the Town will vote to accept and adopt the partial report of the Committee appointed at the adjourned Annual Meeting held March 12, 1906 to investigate the doings of the Building Committee appointed at a Town Meeting held June 7, 1905, and to take any action concerning said report and the construction and furnishing of the three school-houses referred to in said vote which the interest of the Town may require.

Voted, That we take up Art. 5, yeas 117, nays 2.


ART. 5. To see if the Town will take action as to the powers, duties, and acts, of said building committee appointed June 7, 1905, and to pass any vote in the premises which the interest of the Town may require.

To see if the Town will authorize and instruct said investigating committee to enter upon an examination of the mode of construction of and quality of labor and material in said building, or either of them and to obtain and keep possession so far it may be necessary for the use of the said committee to all

Chose George Parsons, Moderator, who after being qualified by the Town Clerk, took charge of the meeting.

ART. 3. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen to hire money and give notes of the Town for the same for the following purposes :


Ist. For the purpose of paying notes coming due the present year.


2d. To hire temporarily, not exceeding $15,000 for one year, in anticipation of the taxes of the year 1906.


Voted, That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to hire money temporarily, not exceeding one year in anticipation of the taxes of the year 1906 and give notes of the Town for the same and all money so hired shall be expressly made payable from such taxes of 1906, the whole amount so hired under this vote not to exceed the sum of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000).

TUESDAY, December 18, 1906.


The meeting was called to order by the Town Clerk Henry A. Parker, at eight o'clock P. M., and after the reading of the Warrant by the Town Clerk, Art. I was taken up.


ART. I. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting. Chose, Thomas P. Parsons, who after being duly qualified by the Town Clerk took charge of the meeting.


ART. 2. To hear and act on Reports of Committees.


Final report of the Investigating Committee of the doings of the Committee on new school-houses was read and accepted.


Report of the Finance Committee accepted.


The following gentlemen were appointed Tellers by the Mod- erator, Herbert M. Forristall, H. A. B. Peckham, E. K. Hay- den, C. W. Pratt.


ART. 3. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropri- ate a sum not exceeding four thousand dollars, said sum to be used, in addition to the amount already appropriated by the Town, for the purpose of constructing the High School building, and Grammar School building; also for the carrying out of the foregoing, to authorize the Treasurer to issue, under authority of Chapter 297 of the Acts of the Legislature of Massachusetts for 1905, bonds of the Town therefor. Said sum so appropriated to be used for the payment of the bills for the completion of the High School and Grammar School; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Wil- liam E. Ludden and others.


Voted, That so much of said vote of June 7, 1905, as relates to the building of said school building at Pleasant Hills be and is hereby rescinded, and that the building of said Pleasant Hills school-house be and is hereby indefinitely postponed ; and that the Selectmen be and are hereby authorized to use and expend said sum of $2,000 or so much thereof as may be needed or

required, to finish and complete the High School and Grammar School buildings recently erected by said Committee.


ART. 4. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Com- mittee on new School Houses to use and expend such sum or sums of money as have been appropriated by said Town, for the construction of new school-houses, in such way and manner as in the judgment of said committee may be deemed necessary and expedient ; or to see what action the Town will take in the mat- ter, agreeable to the petition of William E. Ludden and others.


Voted, To indefinitely postpone.


ART. 5. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropri- ate the sum of six thousand dollars, said sum to be used, in addi- tion to the amount already appropriated by said Town for the purpose of constructing a school building at Pleasant Hills; also for the carrying out of the foregoing, to authorize the Treasurer to issue under authority of Chapter 297 of the Acts of the Legis- lature of Massachusetts for 1905, bonds of the Town therefor ; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Benjamin F. Robinson and others.


Voted, To indefinitely postpone.


ART. 6 .. To see if the Town will vote to lay water pipes on Eaton Avenue, Clayton Avenue and Addison Avenue, and make an appropriation therefor, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of James Deary and others.

To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $1,300 for the purpose of providing for the exemption from tax- ation of Veterans of the Civil War and their Widows under Chapter 315, Sections I and 2 of the Acts of Legislature, passed April 24, 1906, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.

Voted, That the sum of $150 be and hereby is appropriated as called for under Article 9.


ART. 10. To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to install gas fixtures in the Town Hall, and make an appropriation for the same, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Henry A. Parker, and others.
