To W. Charles Sellick, Constable of the Town of Saugus : GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Saugus, qualified to vote in town elections and town affairs to assemble in the Town Hall, on Monday, July eleventh, nine- teen hundred and thirty-two, at eight o'clock, to hear and act on the following articles, viz :


ARTICLE I. To hear and act on reports of Committees.


ART. 2. To see if the town will vote to appropriate the sum of $20,000 for the expenses of the Public Welfare Depart- ment or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Public Welfare.


ART. 3. To see if the town will vote to appropriate the sum of $9,000 for the expenses of the Department of State Aid and Soldiers' Relief or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Selectmen.


ART. 4. To see if the town will vote to accept Hood street as per plans and specifications on file with the Town Clerk, agreeable to petition of William B. Nangle and others.


ART. 5. To see if the town will vote to accept Smith road as per plans and specifications on file with the Town Clerk, agreeable to the petition of James L. Conway and others.


ART. 6. To see if the town will vote to appropriate the sum of $3,000 for Tax Titles or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Tax Collector.


ART. 7. To see if the town will vote to request all town employees receiving from $1, 200 to $1,600 per annum to authorize the Town Treasurer to deduct 5 per cent of their sal- aries, and all town employees receiving more than $1,600 per annam to authorize the Town Treasurer to deduct 10 per cent of their salaries, the same to be retroactive to July 1, 1932.

You are hereby directed to serve this Warrant, by posting attested copies thereof at the usual places seven days, at least, before the time of holding said meeting, and to distribute copies as provided by the By-Laws at least four days before.


HEREOF, FAIL NOT, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of said meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING


July 11, 1932.


The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Frank P. Bennett, Jr., at S.IS P.M.


The following tellers were appointed and duly sworn by the Moderator : Arthur Armstrong, John G. Holmes, John Husler, Clarence Davis.


The salute to the Flag was given.


ARTICLE I. Report of committees.


Report of the Finance Committee for Special Town Meeting of July 11, 1932


ARTICLE 2. Request of the Public Welfare Department for $20,000 for the expenses of its department,


The Finance Committee recommends that in view of the already heavy expenditures of approximately $41,000 as of June 23rd, 1932, that the sum of $10,000 be appropriated.


ART. 3. Request of the Department of State Aid and Soldiers' Relief for $9,000.


The Finance Committee recommends that the sum of $8,000 be appropriated.


ART. 6. Request of the Tax Collector for $3,00 for Tax Titles.


The Finance Committee recommends that the sum of $3,000 be appropriated.

ART. 3. Voted, That the sum of $8,000 be, and the same is hereby appropriated for the expenses of the Department of State Aid and Soldiers' Relief, the same to be in addition to the appropriation made therefor at the Annual Town Meeting. 9.48 P.M.


ART. 4. Voted, That the town accept Hood street as per plans and specifications on file with the Town Clerk. 9.56 P.M.


ART. 5. Voted, That the town accept Smith road as per plans and specifications on file with the Town Clerk. 9.58 P.M.


ART. 6. Voted, That the sum of $3,000 be, and the same is hereby appropriated, for Tax Titles. The same to be in ad- dition to the appropriation made therefor at the Annual Town Meeting.


Voted, That it is the sense of the Town Meeting that all legal services required on and after January 1, 1933 in connec- tion with the taking of land for taxes and final sales by the town be provided by the law department of the town of Saugus.


ART. 7 The motion was lost.


The business of the meeting being completed at 10.30 P.M., the meeting was adjourned.

To W. Charles Sellick, Constable of the Town of Saugus . GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said town who are qualified to vote in State elections to meet in the several voting precincts of the town on Tuesday, the eighth day of November, 1932, at 12 o'clock M., for the following purposes :


To bring in their votes to the election officers for the election of candidates for the following officers :

LAW PROPOSED BY INITIATIVE PETITION


Shall the proposed law which defines and legalizes the prac- tice of chiropractics ; establishes a Board of Registration of Chi- ropractors and defines number, mode of appointment, tenure, qualification and compensation of its members, and its powers and duties ; provides for the preliminary qualifications, exami- nation, certification, original registration and annual license of chiropractors and regulation of their practice, and defines the mode, subjects of and fees for examination, the mode of practice and penalties; and other matters related thereto, which are chiefly as follows :

That chiropractic be "the science or practice of locating and adjusting by hand the malpositions of the articulations of the human spine."


That any person, with one preceding year's residence in this Commonwealth and with degree from a qualified chiropractic school received at least one year prior to the date when this law takes effect, may, within ninety days after such date, be certified by the board at its discretion without examination.
