To see what action the town will take on the matter of purchasing and providing for street signs, the same to be prepared and placed by the Highway Department, and appropriate money therefor, or take any action relative thereto. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate, or transfer, from available funds in the treasury, a sum of money for the purchase of war bonds or other bonds that are legal invest- ments for savings banks, in order to establish a postwar rehabilita- tion fund, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5, Acts of 1943. Article 16. To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to purchase topsoil, loam, seed, and fertilizer suffi- cient to provide a practice and play area located in the rear of the present football field at Phillip's Park and appropriate money for same or otherwise act thereon. Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to purchase drainage pipe and ap- proximately 2400 Cubic Yards of topsoil and loam for the baseball diamond at Phillip's Park and to appropriate money for same or otherwise act thereon. Article 18. To see if the Town will appropriate $1,400.00 for the purpose of starting and preparing a Master Plan of the Town in accordance with Chapter 41, General Laws, Section 81A to 81J inclusive, of the Planning Enabling Act accepted by the Town. Spon- sored by the Planning Board.
Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to lay a sewer on Windsor Avenue for a distance of approximately two hundred twen- ty-five feet (225) from the existing manhole near the Lynn Line, and appropriate money therefor as petitioned for by the Water and Sewerage Board.

Article 20. To see if the town will vote to accept the provisions of Chapter 431 of the Acts of 1943, entitled "An act to permit cities and towns to indemnify military substitutes serving in their fire forces or fire departments." Sponsored by the Board of Fire En- gineers.
Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to build and con- struct a building at or near the existing buildings in the yard of the Highway Department bordering Paradise Road, for the use of the employees of the Highway Department, and equip and furnish the same, and appropriate money therefor. Sponsored by the Sur- veyor of Highways.
Article 22. To see if the town will vote to resurface Salem Street from Humphrey Street to Tedesco Road and appropriate money therefor, or take any action relative thereto. Sponsored by the Surveyor of Highways.
Article 23. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Pub- lic Welfare to appoint one of its own members as agent and in- vestigating officer and fix the salary of such an appointee at $330.00 and appropriate money therefor as provided by Chapter 41, Section 4A of the General Laws (Ter. Ed.). Sponsored by the Board of Public Welfare.
Article 24. To see if the town will authorize the Old Age As- sistance Bureau to appoint one of its own members as agent and investigating officer and fix the salary of such an appointee at $1,- 445.00 and appropriate money therefor, or take any action relative thereto. Article 25. To see if the town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money to provide for making payment to the Con- tributory Retirement System, and the Teachers' Retirement System, the amount which employees of the town who are members of either of said systems in military or naval service of the United States would have paid into said systems if their employment had not been interrupted by the said military or naval service as provided by Section 9, Chapter 708 Acts of 1941 as amended by Chapter 419 Acts of 1943 or take any action relative thereto. Article 26. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to purchase sufficient concrete pipe to en- close the brook at Phillips' Park as recommended by the Board of Health, and appropriate money for same or otherwise act thereon. Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to paint the fish house so-called, repair the roof of same and also repair or replace the concrete driveways and aprons leading thereto and appropriate money for same, or other- wise act thereon. Beginning on the Northerly side of Burrill Street at the point of a curve to Monument Avenue, thence along the Northerly side of Burrill Street N52-43-50W, for a distance of one hundred twenty seven and fifty-two hundredths (127.52) feet, and N55-28-20W, about two hundred (200) feet more or less to land of the Town of Swamp- scott, thence N.E. by land of the Town of Swampscott, one hundred and ten, (110.0) feet, thence N.W. by land of the Town of Swamp- scott, fifty-four and fifty-eight hundredths (54.58) feet, to land of the Swampscott Universalist Society; thence N.E. by land of the Swampscott Universalist Society, thirty-seven and eighty hundredths, (37.80) feet; thence N.W. by land of the Swampscott Universalist Society and John M. & Lida J. Article 32. To see if the town will vote to appropriate a sum of money to defray the expenses of the Massachusetts Selectmen's Association Convention to be held in Swampscott during the summer of 1944, in accordance with the authority granted by Chapter 40, Section 5 of the Massachusetts General Laws. Article 33. To see if the town will vote to appropriate a sum of money to defray the expenses of the convention of the Essex County Forest Warden's Association to be held in Swampscott in

Article 34. To see if the town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of purchasing 1000 ft. of 21/2 inch Double Jacket Hose, or otherwise act thereon, as petitioned for by Charles H. Lampard, et al.
Article 35. To see if the town will vote to appropriate a sum of money to purchase an aerial ladder to replace old ladder No. 1 or otherwise act thereon, as petitioned for by Charles H. Lampard, et al.
