Pursuant to the above direction, I this day posted up true and attested copies of the warrant in three and more public places in each ward of the town, as herein required.

ANNUAL TOWN MEETING.
Pursuant to the foregoing warrant, a legal meeting of the inhab- itants of the town of Weymouth was held at the Town Hall in said town, on Monday, March 3, 1890, at nine o'clock A. M., the meeting being called to order, and the warrant read by the Town Clerk.
ARTICLE 1. Louis A. Cook was elected Moderator by ballot, the check list being used in said election.
ART. 2. Voted, To proceed to the election on one ballot for one Town Clerk, one Town Treasurer, five Selectmen and Over- seers of the Poor, five Assessors, two School Committee for three years, three Trustees of Tufts Library for three years, one Water Commissioner for three years, three Auditors, and thirty four Constables.
In receiving the License ballots, the patent ballot-box furnished by the State was used, the indicator being placed on 0.
The Moderator appointed Wm. Nash, Geo. A. Cushing, and Henry A. Nash as Tellers, to check the names of persons voting on the Voting List; Asa B. Pratt to receive the license ballots ; James L. Lincoln, Chas. E. Bicknell, and Oscar Madan to sort and count the ballots, all of whom were sworn by the Town Clerk.
Voted, That the polls be closed at one o'clock P. M.
Voted, That a committee of five (one from each ward) be ap- pointed by the Moderator to nominate all officers not required to be elected by ballot.
The Moderator appointed Major F. A. Bicknell, W. J. Dunbar, Samuel Curtis, and H. F. Sears on the above committee.
The Moderator appointed Z. L. Bicknell and John Carroll as Tellers, to count all votes on the several articles of the warrant, and they were sworn by the Town Clerk.
ART. 3. Voted, That the reports of the several Boards of Town Officers as printed be accepted.

Voted, That the sum of $39,800 be raised and appro- priated for the support of the public schools and Superintendent for the ensuing year, and that one half of the money received from dog licenses, the income of the Alewife Fund, the State School Fund, and such sums of money as may be received for tuition from scholars who belong in other towns, be appropriated for the same purpose.
ART. 5. Voted, That the School Committee be instructed to employ a superintendent of schools.
ART. 6. Voted, To raise and appropriate for support of high- ways, townways, and bridges the sum of $13,500, to be expended as follows, viz .: -

ART. 17. Voted, By a unanimous vote, that the Treasurer be authorized, under the direction of the Selectmen, to borrow the sum

of $14,000, and to issue a note of the town therefor, for a term of ten years, or less, at the discretion of the Selectmen, for the pay- ment of a note of that amount due May 9, 1890.
ART. 18. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $1,100 for printing and advertising.
ART. 19. This article, in relation to the care and repair of the Town House, was passed over.
ART. 20. Voted, To raise and appropriate the sum of $1,500 for miscellaneous expenses.

Voted, To appropriate the sum of $839.61 for the purpose of covering the overdraft in 1889 for the payment of services of Town Officers.

Voted, That the money left in the hands of the committee of fifteen appointed in 1889 to enforce the liquor and Sunday laws be passed to the Selectmen for the use of the highways.

ART. 23. Voted, That the sum of $7,400 be appropriated from the money received from bank and corporation taxes for the use of hydrants and the care and water rents of the several drinking fountains in town.
ART. 24. Voted, To appropriate the sum of $10,000, now in the hands of the Treasurer, for the purpose of extending the main water-pipe line.

the net surplus income (after deducting the expenses of the water works and the interest on the water loan) from the water rates received by the Town Treasurer for the water furnished by said works, to be paid over to the trustees of the Sinking Fund for the payment of the Weymouth Water Loan, as required by Sect. 7 of Chapt. 174 of the Acts of the Legislature passed in the year 1881, in the following manner, namely : -
Three thousand and five hundred dollars on the first of May next, and $3,500 on the first day of November next, to be held and invested by said trustees as a part of the Sinking Fund, for the purpose aforesaid, and also to authorize the sale of any water bonds held by the town to said trustees at par, for the payment of such appropriation.
ART. 27. Voted, That this article in relation to building a school-house on Summer Street be indefinitely postponed.
ART. 28. Voted, To appropriate from the money received from banks and corporation taxes the sum of $1,000, for the purpose of completing the grading of the Middle Street school-house lot, building fence, and paying outstanding claims on the new school building.
ART. 29. Voted, That the unexpended balance of $575, raised and appropriated under Articles 39 and 40 of the warrant for the annual town meeting of 1889, be reappropriated, and that the additional sum of $625 be raised and appropriated for the purpose of buying land and building a house at Lovell's Corner suitable for a hose carriage and other apparatus appertaining to the Weymouth Fire Department.
Voted, That the Chief of the Fire Department together with the engineer of Ward 4 and the foreman of the company at Lovell's Corner be a committee to carry the above into effect.
