Scituate, Mass., January 15, 1921.


I have examined the accounts of the Selectmen, Over- seers of the Poor, Tax Collector and Treasurer for the year ending December 31, 1920.


Payments authorized by the Selectmen were made by the Treasurer to the extent of $340,847.04.


All accounts were found to be correct and properly vouched for, according to detailed printed reports of the Officers above mentioned.

ARTICLE 2. Voted, That the Town raise and appro- priate the sum of $5000 for the repair of the sea wall, under the Bluff at Minot, to be expended in conjunction with appropriations received from the State and the County Com- missioners, said sum to be raised from the current tax levy of 1920.

To hear the report of any committee heretofore chosen.

Voted, That the Town authorize the Selectmen to prosecute, compromise or defend any suit or suits within the Commonwealth in the name of the Town.


ARTICLE 9 .


Voted, That all taxes shall be payable by November 1 of the year when assessed, and that all taxes unpaid after said November 1 shall draw interest at six per cent from the fifteenth day of October until paid.


ARTICLE 10


Voted, That the Town do instruct its Selectmen to con- trol, regulate or prohibit the taking of eels, clams, quahaugs, razor fish and scallops within the Town of Scituate, in accordance with Chapter 91, Section 85, Revised Laws, as amended by Acts of 1913, Chapter 517, and further amended by Acts of 1915, Chapter 86.

ARTICLE 2


Voted, To appropriate to the use of the School Com- mittee a sum equal to the State reimbursement on teachers' salaries (about $3200).


ARTICLE 3


Voted, $300 for additional insurance on school buildings.


ARTICLE 4


Voted, That the Town accept from the subscribers to, or trustees of, a trust fund now being raised for the following and.other purposes, as a part of the park system, a certain parcel of land lying on the northerly side of Bailey's Cause- way east of the creek, containing by estimate one acre, more or less, as shown on a plan filed with the Selectmen, and raise and appropriate the sum of $500 to prepare the same for automobile parking, to be expended under the direction of the park commissioners.


ARTICLE 5


Voted, That the Town accept the gift of $4,000 offered by the subscribers; that it incorporate that part of the easterly side of the Glades Road lying between Gannett Road and the residence of Msgnr. Splaine as a part of the Park System, and it instruct the Park Commissioners to improve and beautify the same in accordance with the plan filed with the Selectmen.


Voted, $800 for a sidewalk on the northerly side of Grasshopper Lane between Whitcomb Road and Hatherly Road and the westerly side of Hatherly Road at the junction of these two streets to the entrance of the Hatherly Country Club.

Voted, $2000 for necessary improvements in the Fire Department.

Voted, $450 to make the necessary change at the junction of Old Blossom Street and Gannett Road.

Voted, $1000 to repair Greenfield Lane.

Voted, To pay the Scituate Water Company $75 per year for each hydrant, in town ($5,920 additional).

Voted, $2000 to replace the railing on the cement breakwater in front of the cliff at Minot.

Macadam road on Summer Street to the Norwell line. Voted, No.


ARTICLE 13


Voted, To increase the wage rate to 60 cents per hour for town laborers and teams to $10.50 per day for eight hours' work.


ARTICLE 14


Voted, $1300 for the purpose of draining the surface water from Gannett, Damon and Pond View Roads into Musquashet Pond.
