Meeting called to order at 1:35 P.M. by the Moderator, Stuart M. Briggs.


Louis T. Brock, Sr., Harold L. Hoxie and Eliot R. Mowat were sworn in as Tellers by Michael J. O'Leary, Town Clerk.


Invocation was given by the Rev. Clifton G. Hoffman, Pastor of the Unitarian Memorial Church, Fairhaven, Mass.


Town Meeting Members present were: Precinct 1-55; Precinct 2- 46; Precinct 3-46; Precinct 4-53; Precinct 5-52; At large-30; Total- 282.


Voted unanimously that all appropriations made on the Warrant be placed in the Tax Levy of 1953, unless otherwise stated.

ARTICLE 19. (1) Unanimously voted in favor of the appro- priation of $5,000 from Excess and De- ficiency Account to create a stabilization fund in accordance with the provisions of Sect. 5B of Chapt. 40 of the General Laws.


(2) On replacement of Engine No. 4 in 1955, unless an emergency should cause a similar purchase before that date: Voted that action be indefinitely postponed.
