Voted that all unexpended balances be appropriated for the several Departments to which they were originally in- tended.


Voted that A. Ellery Briggs, J. W. Andrews, R. W. Whitmarsh, and George H. Phillips, be a committee to purchase a motor driven Fire apparatus for the South Village.


Voted that the salary of Collector of Taxes be one per cent of whole committment of Taxes plus the price of his official bond.


Voted that the salary of the Treasurer be two hundred dollars plus the price of his official bond. 1


Voted to require Town Officers that are bonded to furnish bonds from some bond company.


The following finance committee was nominated:

Voted to instruct the Selectmen to take such steps as are necessary to condemn the land and widen and straighten the street at Cobb's Corner, "so called."


Voted that it is the sense of this meeting that the Town will contribute the sum of $5,000 for their part in building macadam road through the South Village at Cobb's Corner.

ANNUAL REPORT.


Voted to appropriate five thousand dollars to pay the Town's share in building macadam road on Somerset Ave., and Pleasant Street in conjunction with the State High- way Commission, they to build the rest of this section now uncompleted, and to provide funds for this appropria- tion. The Town Treasurer is hereby authorized and di- rected with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow the sum of five thousand dollars and to issue five notes of the Town therefor of one thousand dollars each, the first note payable Nov. 1, 1915 and one Nov.1, of each year until all are paid. A unanimous vote.


Voted that the Town Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to borrow money . from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial, year beginning January 1, 1914, and to issue a note or notes therefor payable within one year. Any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of said financial year.


Voted that we do not ask the Director of Bureau of Statistics for an audit of the Town accounts.


Voted that our Surveyers of Highways be a committee to investigate our macadam streets and what is needed for proper care of same and report at the adjourned meet- ing.


Voted to authorize the Selectmen to act as its agent, employ legal council and settle claims against the Town.


Voted to waive the Towns right under the provisions of Sec. 10 of Chapter 47 of the Revised Laws to contract with the State for the construction of State Highways this . year.


Voted to authorize the Selectmen to give bond indem- nifying the State for damages caused by the laying out, change of grade and taking of land for the construction of State Highway this year.

Voted the Collector of Taxes be given the power of a Town Treasurer in collecting taxes, and that interest at the rate of 6% be charged on all taxes not paid Nov. 1, 1914.


Voted to accept the provisions of Section 432 Chapter 835, Acts of 1913, relative to using official ballots for the election of Town officers.


At the adjourned Annual Town Meeting held April 4, it was voted to authorize the Selectmen to fill all vacancies in Town offices.


Voted to accept the report of the Town officers as print- ed.


Voted to appropriated for State Aid, $868.00.


Voted to appropriate for Fire Dept., $600.00.


The committee to report on condition of macadam streets in Town then made a verbal report after which it was voted.


Voted to oil the macadam on Centre St.


Voted to raise $760 to purchase a car of Tarvia, said tarvia to be spread by the sellers. The highway sur- veyors to sweep and sand the several macadam roads.


Voted that the purchasing of this material be left in hands of highway surveyors.


At a special Town Meeting held June 22, 1914, Charles S. Chase was chosen Moderator.


Voted to raise and appropriate $300 to oil Pearl and School streets, and finish oiling Spring Street, said sum to be expended under the direction of a special committee of three to be appointed by the Moderator.


The Moderator appointed C. C. Andrews, J. R. Milliken and E. E. Lincoln.

Voted that the voters of the Town in legal Town meet- ing, assembled enters emphatic protest against closing the bridge at Muddy Cove during construction of the new bridge by the Mass. Highway Commission.


At a special Town Meeting held July 15, 1914, Charles S. Chase was chosen Moderator.


Voted that we do not build a temporary bridge at Mud- dy Cove.


At the Primary Election held Sept. 22, 1914, the follow- ing result was declared.

At a special Town Meeting held Nov. 3, 1914, Charles S. Chase was chosen Moderator.


Voted to instruct the Selectmen to sell the fishing privi- leges at public auction. One privilege was sold to E. D. , Perry and one to D. F. Lane, for $15 each.
