The regular annual Town meeting was held at Town Hall, Monday, March 4, 1918.

The committee on estimates for appropriation were Clarence C. Andrews, Geo. E. Hathaway, Howard C. Briggs, Jos. E. Sears, Geo. A. Clark, D. D. Andrews and H. W. Pardey.


Voted to pay the Treasurer $400 per year plus the price of his official bond and that the collector's salary be one per cent. of the commitment of taxes plus the price of his official bond.


Voted to empower and authorize the Selectmen to act as its agent in defending suits at law brought against the town, employ legal counsel and settle claims or act relative thereto.


Voted to authorize the Town Treasurer with the ap- proval of the Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning Jan. 1, 1918, and to issue a note or notes there- for payable within one year any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of said finan- cial year.


Voted that the Town Officers be bonded by the Massa- chusetts Bonding Co.


Voted to authorize the Collector of Taxes to use all means of collecting taxes that a Town Treasurer may use when appointed a collector.


Voted to place the Roderick claim for damages in hands of Selectmen for adjustment.

At the adjourned annual meeting on May 4, 1918.


Voted to pay bills for oiling Spring St. from regular appropriation for oil.


Voted to raise and appropriate $150 to finish the mac- adam on Spring St.


At a special Town Meeting held July 2, 1918, Charles S. Chase was elected moderator.


Voted to pay laborers on the highways not to exceed $3.00 per day and double teams $6.50 per day.


Voted to raise and appropriate $3,500 to pay for con- structing a macadam road on Summer St. and Joseph K. Milliken, George M. Chase and George E. Hathaway were appointed a committee of three to have charge of con- structing the same.


Voted to request the committee on repairs of Chemica Fire Engine to have same completed as soon as possible and report at an adjourned meeting.


Voted to adjourn to July 9, 1918, at 7.45 o'clock.


At the adjourned meeting July 9, the committee on Chemical reported that they had returned the new engine and sent the old one to factory to be repaired.


At the annual State Election held on Nov. 5, 1918, the result was as follows:
