Voted to pay for labor on highways for double team $7.50 per day, $3.00 per day for man.

Voted salary of town officers be same as last year.


Voted to instruct the selectmen to appoint all minor officers.


Voted that the treasurer with the approval of the select- men be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the town for the financial year beginning January 1, 1927 and to issue a note on notes therefor payable within one year. Any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of said financial year.


Voted the Collector have same powers in collection of taxes as the town treasurer.

Voted that the treasurer and collector of taxes be bonded in the sum of ten thousand dollars each. That the town clerk's bond be one thousand dollars, the cost to be paid by the town. That the treasurer and collector of taxes secure bonds approved by the department of corporations and tax- ation.


Voted that the Bristol Co. Trust Co. and the Machinist National Bank both of Taunton be designated as the banks in which the treasurer is authorized and directed to keep the checking account of the town, and that it is further voted that the treasurer be directed to keep the balance in about equal amounts in the above named banks.


Voted that the addition to the So. Dighton school be constructed under the direction of the School Committee.


Voted that the name of the new cement highway from Somerset Ave. be called and named County Street.


The moderator appointed the following a finance com- mittee for year 1927, Joseph K. Milliken, Joseph P. Dupont, E. E. Lincoln, J. Willis Andrews, Warren L. Ide, Charles C. Marble, and Julius G. Romero.


At the special town meeting held April 17, 1927 it was voted to accept Chapter 807 of the Acts of 1913 and all acts in amendment thereof and in addition thereto to pay labor- ers, workmen, and mechanics employed by the town who may receive injuries arising out of and in the course of their employment, or in case of death resulting from such injury to the persons thereto. The compensation required by Chapter 152 of the General Laws and all acts of amendment thereof and in addition thereto.
