PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT
To the Trustees of the Public Library :
Gentlemen :
I have just completed my 18th report as your Librarian. Not many years ago it was my ambition to put 10,000 books into circulation in one year. I reached that goal some time ago. This year shows a very grati- fying increase of nearly 4,000. Owing to limited funds last year I purchased only 121 books and tried to economize in various ways. I am asking for $200 to use for Reference Books, also for 2 more lights in the stack room. The janitor asks one for more light in the basement. May I call your attention to the need of repairing the Library ? Eighteen years have passed with perhaps, I might say, no repairs. I feel sure you will agree with me when I state we couldn't allow our homes to go that length of time without spending some money for its upkeep. Often we are asked for a catalog of the books.
My budget for the year 1929 is as follows:
Heating
$150.00
Lighting
25.00
