REPORT OF FINANCE COMMITTEE


On the Articles in the Town Warrant March 1934


The Finance Committee herewith submits its report and recommendations to the Town on the articles in the Warrant for the annual meeting to be held March 5, 1934.


ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS Plymouth SS.


Art. 1. To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treas- urer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the finan- cial year beginning January 1st., 1934.


Article 1. Recommended by the Committee.


Article 2. To see if the Town will authorize the Select- men to prosecute, compromise or defend suits for or against the Town.


Article 2. Recommended by the Committee.


Article 5. To see what disposition. the Town will make of the dog fund.


Article 5. Recommended by the Committee that the dog fund be applied to the Library Account.


Article 6. To raise and appropriate such sums of money as may be necessary to defray town charges for the ensuing year.

Article 10. To see what amount the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the use of the Plymouth County Trustees for County Aid to Agriculture and choose a Town Director as provided in Section 41 and 45 of Revised Chapter 128 of the General Laws and act thereto.


Article 10. Committee recommends the sum of $100.00.


Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money not to exceed Seventy-Five Dollars ($75) for rental for the American Legion. Money to be paid to the Commander of the Sons of Veterans and act thereon or thereto. (By request).


Article 11. Committee recommends the sum of $125.00.


Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars ($800) from the free cash in the treasury for the purpose of paying charges against the perpetual care funds, said amount to be refunded before the end of the current year.

Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to recommend to its Selectmen to appoint a Special Police Officer for per- manent duty during the ensuing year and that said officer receive such compensation as the Selectmen may determine. By recommendation of the Finance Committee.

Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to raise and Appropriate a sum of money not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500) to finish Tremont Street, providing an allot- ment is received from the State and County, and act any- thing thereon or thereto.

Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money not to exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1000) to put the top on Cranberry Road, pro- viding an allotment is received from the State and County, and act anything thereon or thereto.

Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for the C. W. A. program and act anything thereon or thereto.


Article 16. Not having any figures available from the Selectmen the Committee recommends whatever sum may be necessary to carry on the C. W. A. work.

COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS PLYMOUTH SS.


To either of the Constables of the Town of Carver, Plym- outh County.


Greeting:


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Carver qualified to vote in elections and in Town affairs to meet at the Town Hall in said Carver on Monday the 5th day of March 1934 at 8:30 o'clock in the forenoon then and there to act on the following articles.


Article 1. To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1st., 1934.

Article 17. To choose all necessary town officers, the following officers to be voted for all on one ballot viz: Moder- ator, Treasurer, Town Clerk, Collector of Taxes, Three Auditors, Three Constables, Three Herring Committee- men, One School Committeeman and One Tree Warden each for one year. One Assessor, One Selectman, One School Committeeman, One Cemetery Commissioner, One Park Commissioner, One Member of Public Welfare and two Library Trustees each for Three Years, and to vote by ballot "Yes" or "No" in answer to the following questions: "Shall licenses be granted for the sale of all alcoholic bever- ages?" and "Shall licenses be granted for the sale of wines and malt beverages?"


And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting up attested copies thereof, at the several places designated by vote of the town seven days at least before the time of hold- ing said meeting.


The polls will open at 12 o'clock noon and will be open for at least four hours.


Hereof fail not and make due returns of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of meeting aforesaid.
