REPORT OF THE HIGHWAY SURVEYOR YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1940


The following work was done under the Highway De- partment during 1940:


CHAPTER 81


Appropriation Town $6,500.00


State 9,750.00


An addition al 2000 ft. of Meadow St. and 2700 ft. of High St. was hardened with a tar surface.


1000 ft. of Mayflower Rd. was exavated, gravelled, and surfaced with tar.


Three-quarter miles was excavated and gravelled, in preparation for surfacing, on So. Meadow Rd. and 1500 ft. on Gate St.


Mixed in place Non-skid surface was applied to 1/2 mile of Plympton St. and 1000 ft. of Main St.


1000 ft. of Non-Skid crushed stone surface was applied to Main St.


The remainder of the appropriation was spent on gen- eral maintenance.
