ANNUAL REPORT
OF THE
SELECTMEN.
We wish to call the attention of the citizens to the new paving laid on Hamilton street. The town has one of the best stretches of road in the state. We have received from the Commonwealth the sum of $6,400.00, and $5,070.00 from the Worcester & South- bridge Street Railway Co. The railway company paid for their share of the construction of the paving be- tween the tracks, and 18 inches outside, in accordance with their franchise. The Board had the help and co- operation of the Massachusetts highway commission and their division engineer. All work was done ac- cording to plans and specifications made out by the said commissioners, They furnished an engineer, who had charge of the work, and also had their divi- sion engineer inspect the pavement every week. All bids were advertised for and opened at their office in Boston, and let to the lowest bidder.
