I have made a special effort to bring in up-to-date books for the children, books to be used by the pupils in the school, as supplementary reading, in conjunction with the various courses of study according to grade. I express my appreciation to the Trustees, the School Committee, School Superintendent, and especially to the teachers for their cooperation. I have at hand more new books, on basic science to be put out in the new year for the same purpose.

TOWN OF OAKHAM

Thank you for the new typewriter, which is an indis- pensable article.

It was a privilege to attend the institute at the Univer- sity of Massachusetts last June at which I received class in- struction on cataloging, classifying and reference work, and the up-to-date methods of carrying on library work.

A special shelf has been allotted for material on child psychology in cooperation with the P .- T.A. organization.

I am pleased to report that a special work committee, appointed by the Historical Society, has been at work, cleaning and rearranging the cabinets in the Historical Room. An effort is being made to set aside a section of the room to display printed material, and whatever else is available, relative to local town history.

Our janitor has been most kind and helpful, all of which I appreciate.

There are many copies of the publication entitled: "The Fobes Memorial Library" available at a small cost, from which I have received inspiration as to my services as libra- rian.

It is my earnest desire in the coming year, to weed out and build up the adult reading material, so that your libra- ry will be attractive to you as well as to your children.

Respectfully,

MRS. LILA WILBUR, Librarian
