TOWN MEETING.


PLYMOUTH, SS.


To any Constable of the Town of West Bridgewater, in the County of Plymouth, Greeting :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said town, qualified to vote at elections and in town affairs, to assemble at the Town Hall, in said town, on MONDAY, the 4th day of March, at one o'clock in the afternoon, then and there to act on the following articles, viz : -


ARTICLE 1. - To choose a moderator to preside in said meeting.


ART. 2. - To hear the annual reports of town officers and committees, and act thereon.


ART. 3. - To choose all necessary town officers.


ART. 4. - To bring in their votes, " Yes," or " No," on the following question : " Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this town ?"


ART. 5. - To act on the list of jurors as reported by the selectmen.


ART. 6. - To see if the town will vote to adopt the provision of the Statute in relation to the election of road commissioners. (By request. )

ART. 7. - To see if the town will choose surveyors to have charge of repairs on the highways the ensuing year, said surveyors to be elected by ballot, each district to be voted on separately. (By petition.)


ART. 8. - To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to defray the town charges for the ensuing year, and make appropriation of the same.


ART. 9. - To see if the town will raise one hundred dollars (100) for public lectures.


AkT. 10. - To see if the town will appropriate the sum of three hundred dollars to build sidewalks where they are most needed, the expenditure of this sum to be placed in the hands of a committee of three citizens to be chosen by ballot. (By petition. )


ART. 11. - To see if the town will instruct the treasurer to pay no bill whatever, unless he shall first receive an order .drawn and signed by the selectmen ; the orders for State and military aid, and all orders for school bills approved by one of the school committee, to be paid upon the order signed by one of the selectmen, and for the payment of all other bills he shall require an order signed by two members of the board. (By request. )


ART. 12. - To see if the town will authorize the treasurer to borrow money, in anticipation of taxes, to pay charges against the town.


ART. 13. - To take such action as the town sees fit with regard to requiring the County Commissioners to establish a County Truant School in accordance with the provisions of law.

ART. 14. - To see if the town will authorize the School Committee to elect a superintendent of schools.


ART. 15. - To see if the town will raise and appropriate the sum of fifty dollars ($50) for memorial services on Memorial Day. (By request. )


ART. 16. - To determine the manner of collecting the taxes the ensuing year.


ART. 17. - To transact any business that may legally come before the meeting.


And you are directed to serve this Warrant according to the vote of said town, seven days, at least, before the time appointed for said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Clerk of said Town, at or before the time appointed for the meeting aforesaid.


Given under our hands, at said West Bridgewater, this twenty-first day of February, in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.
