The town ratified the action of the School Committee in signing a contract with the Trustees of the Howard Funds for the use of the High School property for three years, effective July 1, 1922.

For the purpose of installing water in the South part of the town, the town voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $5,000.00, and the Treasurer was authorized to issue notes, with the approval of the Selectmen, for $5,000.00 payable $500.00 each year beginning 1924 to 1933 inclusive.

The sum of $10,000.00 was appropriated from the Sur- plus Revenue to be deducted by the Assessors from the tax levy of 1923.

In the death of our honored Town Treasurer and Tax Collector, Frank L. Howard, who had served the town in those capacities for a long period of years, the town lost a valuable servant.

On February 26, 1923, Catherine M. Howard was ap- pointed acting Town Treasurer and Tax Collector to fill the unexpired term of Frank L. Howard, and Mrs. Howard was sworn to a faithful performance of her duties by the Town Clerk.

That the salary of the Collector be $700.00 and that of the Treasurer be $300.00 and that the sum of $350.00 be allowed for the expenses of the two offices.

Voted to accept the report of the committee.

The sum of $1,350.00 was raised and appropriated for the Treasurer and Tax Collector.
