The Committee of Visitation shall exercise a general supervision over the schools to which they are severally assigned and shall visit them according to the provisions of the statutes, not less than once in four weeks, and gener- ally during the week preceding the monthly meeting of the Board at which they shall report their condition .- [Rules, Chap. 3, Sec. 6.
Though each school is assigned to a special committee, yet every member of the Board shall consider it his duty to watch over all the public schools of the city, to attend their examinations, and visit them at other times as his convenience will permit .- [Sec. 7.
