As will be seen, there has been quite an increase in the debt of the town the past year. The appropriation for schools being $3,200 ; while there has actually been drawn from the treasury from Jan. 1, 1889, to Jan. 1, 1890, $4,238.75 on account of school

expenses. There was also paid for repairs of Grove Street, $1,212.60 ; River Street, $449.04, and Barrell Lane $95.08. A total of nearly $3,000 expended for which no money was raised.
