Article 7. To see what sums the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds for School Department General Maintenance and for Industrial Tuition, or what it will do in relation thereto.

Article 7. On motion of Frank D. Tanner, it was voted that the sum of $3,300.00 be appropriated from the unexpended balance in the School Committee General Salaries Account for the School Committee General Maintenance Account, and that $200.00 be appropriated from the unexpended balance in the School Committee General Salaries Account for Industrial Tuition and that the Town Accountant be and he hereby is authorized and instructed to transfer said sums to the said accounts.
Article 8. To see if the town will raise and appropriate the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) to reimburse Patrolman Gordon G. MacIntire for medical attendance and care occasioned by injuries received in line of duty November 11, 1936, or what it will do in relation thereto.

Article 9. On motion of Clinton L. Bancroft, it was voted that the sum of fifty-seven dollars and twenty-three cents ($57.23) be appro- priated from the unexpended balance of the Chapin Avenue Betterment Account, and also that the sum of sixty-nine dollars and thirty-nine cents ($69.39) be appropriated from the unexpended balance of the County Road Betterment Account, and that said sums be transferred to the General Highway Account, and that the Town Accountant be,

Beginning at a stone bound at a point of curve on the Easterly side

line of said Pine Ridge Road, said stone bound being S 5 degrees-53' -- 40" W., a distance of 613.36 feet from a point of tangent on the said Easterly line of Pine Ridge Road at its intersection with Oak Street;
Thence by a curve in a Southeasterly direction, having a radius of 20.00 feet, by lands of John A. Spurr and Frances P. Spurr, a length of 31.42 feet to a point of tangent ;

We determine that no damages will be sustained by any person or persons in their property by reason of the taking to be made for this improvement. All acts in connection with said laying out are done under the provision of law authorizing the assessment of better- ments, and betterments are to be assessed therefor.
This laying out so made by us, we hereby report to the Town for acceptance and recommend that said way shall thereafter be known as a public town way and named Sylvan Road and that the sum of forty-nine ($49.00) dollars be appropriated from the unexpended bal- ance of the Chapin Avenue Betterment Account for the laying out and the construction of said way and transferred to the Sylvan Road Betterment Account, and that the Town Accountant be and he hereby is authorized and instructed to transfer said sum to said account.

To see if the Town will authorize and empower the Board of Public Works to enter into an agreement with the Meadow Brook Golf Club Corporation upon such terms and conditions as they may determine, relating to the abandonment and termination of an easement taken by the Town through the Club's property for the pur- pose of gaining access to sand and gravel, and to further authorize and empower said Board of Public Works to execute in the name and behalf of the Town such agreement, or what it will do in relation thereto.

Bancroft, it was voted that the Town authorize and empower the Board of Public Works to enter into an agreement with the Meadow Brook Golf Club Corporation upon such terms and conditions as they may determine, relating to the abandonment and termination of an easement taken by the Town through the Club property for the purpose of gaining access to land and gravel, and to further authorize and empower said Board of Public Works to execute in the name and behalf of the Town such agreement.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Security Hall, Woburn Street, December 6, 1937.
Pursuant to the warrant and the Constable's Return thereon, a town meeting was held at the time and place designated therein and was called to order by the Moderator, Charles P. Howard. The war-

rant was partially read by the Town Clerk, Millard F. Charles, when upon motion of Newell H. Morton, it was voted to dispense with further reading except the Constable's Return, which was duly read by the Town Clerk.
Article 1. To hear and act on the reports of Town Officers and special committees to choose all necessary special committees, and de- termine what instructions will be given Town Officers and special com- mittees.
Article 1. On motion of Newell H. Morton, it was voted to lay this article on the table.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote additional appropriations for Public Welfare, including Aid, Board and Care, and determine how the money shall be raised by borrowing or otherwise, or what it will do in relation thereto.
Board of Selectmen.
Article 2. On motion of Newell H. Morton, it was voted to lay this article on the table.
Article 3. To see what sum the Town will appropriate from avail- able funds for the purpose of defraying certain unpaid accounts in the Welfare Department or what it will do in relation thereto.
Board of Public Welfare.
Article 3. On motion of Orville S. Poland, it was voted that the sum of three hundred fifty-four dollars and eleven cents ($354.11) be appropriated from the unexpended balance of the Interest Account for the payment of outstanding bills in the Aid to Dependent Children Welfare Account, and that the Town Accountant be and he hereby is authorized and instructed to set up a special Welfare Defi- ciency Account and to transfer said sum to said special account.
Article 4. To see what sum the Town will appropriate from avail- able funds for the purpose of foreclosing in the Land Court pursuant to the provisions of Section 65 of Chapter 60 of the General Laws, the right of redemption to any and all real estate taken by the Town for non-payment of taxes, or what it will do in relation thereto.

Article 4. On motion of Leon G. Bent, it was voted that the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) be appropriated from the unexpended balance of the Interest Account for the purpose of perfecting titles in the Land Court, pursuant to the provisions of Section 65 of Chapter 60 of the General Laws, by foreclosure of all rights of redemption to real estate taken by the Town for non-payment of taxes, and that the Town Accountant be and he hereby is authorized and instructed to transfer said sum to said account.
Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to accept the report of

the Board of Public Works upon the laying out as a public highway of a private way known as Fairmount Road, under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments, such highway being laid out in accordance with plan duly approved by the Board of Survey and filed in the office of the Town Clerk in accordance with the statutory re- quirements, and to see if the Town will accept the public way laid out by the Board of Public Works as Fairmount Road, and to see what sum the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds and transfer for the construction of said way, or what it will do in relation thereto. Article 2. On motion of Newell H Morton, it was voted to take Article 2 from the table.
On motion of Newell H. Morton, it was voted that the sum of seven thousand dollars ($7,000.00) be appropriated for Public Welfare, including Aid, Board and Care, and to meet said appropriation the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen be and he hereby is authorized to borrow said sum under the provisions of Chapter 49 of the Acts of 1933 as most recently amended by Chapter 281 of the Acts of 1936 and to issue a note or notes of the Town therefor payable in not more than five (5) years from the date thereof.
Ninety-one voted "Yes" and one (1) "No".
On motion of Newell H. Morton, it was voted to adjourn sine die.

SECTION 3, CHAPTER 444, ACTS 1897
Section 3. Physicians and Midwives shall on or before the fifth day of each month report to the clerk of each city or town a correct

list of all children born therein during the month next preceding, at whose birth they were present, stating the date and place of each birth, the name of the child, if it has any, the sex and color of the child, the name, place of birth and residence of the parents, the maiden name of the mother, and occupation of the father. If the child is illegitimate the name of the father shall not be stated, unless at the joint request in writing of both father and mother, which requests shall be filed with the return of births. The fee of the physicians or midwives shall be twenty-five conts for each birth so reported and shall be paid by the city or town in which the report is made, upon presentation of certi- ficate from the city or town clerk, stating that said births have been reported in conformity with the requirements of this section. Any physician rr midwife neglecting to report such list for ten days after it is due shall for each offense forfeit a sum not exceeding twenty-five dollars.
