WALTHAM HOUSE DIRECTORY
AND DIRECTORY OF STREETS
COPYRIGHT, 1928, SAMPSON & MURDOCK CO., BOSTON, MASS.
EXPLANATION-In the House Directory residences and places of business, designated by their street numbers, are arranged in numerical order upon their respective streets, those upon the right side of a street appearing first, followed by those upon the left side Names are given against their proper street number, and when a house is not num- bered a cipher is substituted for the street number
Boarders are denoted by the abbreviation b, and business men at their place of bus- iness are denoted by the street number printed in heavy-faced figures. Names of all others are those of housekeepers
When a person's place of business and residence are at the same place, it is indicated by the use both of heavy-faced figures for the street number and of the abbreviation h at the end of the line
Names of cross streets appear at their place of intersection
After the name of a street the word STREET is omitted; the words Newton, Lincoln and Lexington, when referring to city or towns of those names, are followed by the word LINE; when not followed by the word LINE they are names of streets
*Streets which have not been accepted by the city are indicated by an asterisk
** Streets, a part of which have been accepted and a part remains unaccepted, are indicated by two asterisks
