The Baltimore

Cab Company

TELEPHONE No. 1172.

CABS CAN BE HAD AL ALL HOURS, DAY OR NIGHT, AT MAIN OFFICE,

BALTIMORE AND LIGHT STS.

Cabs can be had at the following Branch Stations from 7 A. M. to 12 P. M: Young Men's Republican Club and Academy Hotel.

ADVANTAGES.

THE GURNEY CAB carries four passengers. It is the Carriage for Weddings, Balls, Recep- tions, Parties, Operas, and all Full Dress Occasions. The great advantage of enter- ing behind, is that it protects dresses from being soiled by the wheels, and in nearly every case prevents accidents. A lady also has the advantage of a whole seat to herself. It entirely overcomes the serious objections to the ordinary coupe and hansom and carries twice as many passengers. It is the coolest car- riage known in hot weather or in a hot climate, as it has drop windows all around. Driver opens and closes the doors without leaving his seat. It has a communicating window between the driver and passenger, which also serves as a ventilator, and entirely overcomes the Seriously Ackward Performance expe- rienced in all other carriages when given instructions to the driver.

AS A SHOPPING CARRIAGE

and calling for ladies and children it is well adapted. It can carry their bundles; it is hung low from the ground (about 22 inches) which makes it easy and safe for getting in and out. It is more durable than any other vehicle, as body and gear is built almost entirely of iron and steel. .

Hints to Our Patrons.

Having decided that you want a Cab be sure and get one of the Baltimore Cab Co's. This Company has the most elegantly appointed Cabs in the city, and it is the aim of the Company tu place before the public a service so perfect in all it details that even the most fastidious cannot complain.

On getting into one of our Cabs, first notice the Number, and make note of it ; it is not much trouble and helps to insure you against losses or overcharges, Then state how you want the Cab, by the hour or otherwise, as this omission is often the cause of dispute.

On arriving at your destination, ask the driver how much ; it is his business to know exactly how much it ought to be, and if you think he is overcharging you, pay him what he asks, and report the same as soon as possible to our office. This is far better than the unseemliness of a dispute on the public street, and you can rely on a prompt return of your money, if the driver is at fault.

INTRODUCTORY

The Publishers of THE BALTIMORE CITY DIRECTORY believe that in the edition now put forth for the year 1890 the general accuracy and completeness which have characterized previous editions have in no way diminished.

As a product of the bookmaker's art the present volume will be found the equal in typographical finish and beauty to any similar publication in the country.

As a compendium of valuable information the Directory can hardly be excelled. It is so compiled and indexed that any and every por- tion of its contents may be readily found. It is a complete work of reference and guide to all that pertains to our city.
