SHRIVER'S CELEBRATED REMEDY

FOR THE

PREVENTION AND CURE

OF

BILIOUS DISEASES.

It includes all Diseases of a Bilious Nature, it cures all Bilious Com- plaints, from a slight attack to that of Bilious Fever, every form of Intermittent and Remittent Fevers, Chills and Fever, Ague and Fever, Dumb Agues, and all diseases that originate through Diseased Bile.

This medicine has been used for years in private practice, and its virtues have been so tested that it has far exceeded any remedy that has yet been before the public for the Prevention and Cure of the above named diseases. It has been faithfully tested and found to cure when every other medicine has failed, and is now confidently recommended to the public as the only safe and effectual remedy yet discovered for the freeing of Bile, and the greatest feature of this medicine is, beside the cure, that it can be taken by all, as it contains no Quinine, Arsenic, or Mercury, and is free from all Poisonous Ingredi- ents, and while using the patient need not be confined to the house or restricted in diet. This remedy is not intended to check only, but it will certainly eure.

Persons who are subject to Chills and Fevers in the Spring and Autumn ought certainly to use this medicine, and by so doing they will never have a future attack.

This remedy will be sent FREE OF POSTAGE to any part of the United States, with full directions for use, on the receipt of $1 00.

PREPARED ONLY BY

D. C. SHRIVER,

TO ALL PERSONS USING STEAM BOILERS. WOODRUFF'S PATENT ANTI-FRICTION

STEAM AND FIRE

REGULATOR,

COULENTLEY

FOR STEAM BOILERS,

PATENTED OCTOBER 23, 1855,

Made under and combined with Timothy Clark's Patent, dated August 21, 1847. The wants of the public using Steam have for a long time ca led for a machine to answer the following purpose, which this Regulator is guaranteed to perform to the full satisfae- tion of all who may give it a trial.

It is of the utmost importance and advantage to all sizes of Boilers, in its perfectly con- trolling both the fire and st am by its extreme sensitiveness and durability, being construct- ed on a natural law, very simple, self-acting and anti-friction. It will save a very large per centage of the fuel by partially closing the damper and preventing the heat from pass ing through the chimney; will consumc more of the gasses, and so regulate the draft of the fire that it will give just the amount of steam required. keeping it at that point, thereby preventing explosions, or any unnecessary strain on the boilers, or loss of steam through the safety-valve, and will also preserve the Boilers, Grate Bars and Furnace Fronts, by keeping the heat regular; will attend the Damper in a better manner and more accurately than any Engineer possibly cau, should he devote his whole time and attention to it, and can be changed in an instant to keep the steam at any number of pounds required.

We refer to nearly all of the Editors in this city now using them, and all others having them in use, for the merits of this Regulator. For recommendations received from the U. S. Government and others, for the price of machines, &c., inquire of the l'atentee,

JOSEPH WOODRUFF,

At the Baltimore Steam Boiler Works, Front St., near Lombard, Or C. W. BENTLEY, Esq., Agent, at the same place.

Ar Circulars or l'amphlets, with full description, will he sent by mail upon application. N. B .- The public are hereby cautioned against infringing either of the above Letters Patent, granted by the Government of the United States. The original one, dated August 21st, 1847, is for an elastic vessel in combination with the steam and damper.
