The World.

THE GREAT

ONE CENT

EVENING PAPER.

Extract from President Duncan's speech to THE FEDERATION OF LABOR, February 3rd, 1892:

" We ought to feel proud that we have such a paper in Baltimore as THE WORLD. It arose from a former paper, wrecked because its proprietors would not employ union labor. When the gentlemen of THE WORLD came here they believed by starting a paper with union printers and making friends with the laboring as well as the rich man, that they could make an afternoon paper a success. The rapid growth of the paper proves their ideas were correct, for THE WORLD is a success in every sense of the word. It has every week given particular attention to the Federation, and its reports of the meetings and doings of the body are full and correct. The bright, lively manner in which its articles are written are far ahead of the old style press.

" The fight THE WORLD has made for a stone bridge. too, has aided us greatly. The local interviews and editorials published on the subject are well-written, able articles and I think the Federation and every- one interested in organized labor should give the paper attention and support. It is a bright, fearless, impartial little sheet."

The WORLD contains full reports of Organized Labor Meetings, and the very latest Local and Telegraph News.
