Cunard's Line, from Liverpool to Boston, leaves


Each of the above lines carries a Mail, but Cunard's is free to Liverpool, except that the inland postage from the place of deposite to Boston must be paid. The rates of postage from New York are as follow : Government postmasters of the place where letters are deposited, are authorized to receive : for single letters 25 cents; double letters, 50 cents ; triple { ing the postage to New Orleans. letters, 75 cents : quadruple letters, $1; packages of letters per oz. $1; Newspapers, each 2 cents ; Magazines, Pamphlets, &c. per sheet, 2 cents.


Packets of the first class leave Nero York


For Liverpool, Ist, 6th, 11th, 16th, 21st, and 26th of every month-in the morning.


For London, 1st, 10th and 20th of every month- in the morning.


For Havre, 1st, Sth, 16th and 24th of every month-in the morning.


Packets also leave on stated days, except in the season of winter, for New Orleans, Mobile, Suvan- nah, Charleston, Virginia and Baltimore.


Mail Arrangement.


Letters to be sent by Packets for England, as each port twice every month. Steam Navigalion , above, require, besides the American postage, that Co's Line from Liverpool, London and Bristol, to a freight postage of 12} cents for each single letter, New York.


25 cents for each double one, and so on, should be paid in advance.


By arrangements between the two Governments, mail matter for the British possessions in North America is forwarded, and received, whether pre- paid or not.


Papers and letters for Texas, may be sent by pay-


Letters for any part of the world, will be for- warded by the first opportunity from New York, if the inland postage be paid to that city.
