The object of this Society is to supply a need long felt for increasing the opportunities for support of women who are dependent upon their own exertions. To encourage the dignity of labor and belp women to think that honest self-support is honorable and praiseworthy, is the chief aim of the Society. Since no one will be helped with money, it can, therefore, in no wise be considered a charitable institution ; but all who wish to help themselves will be aided in every way to develop their own capacity of labor, and to receive an equivalent for their work.
