To ALLEN MERRILL; CONSTABLE OF THE TOWN OF DEXTER; IN THE COUNTY OF PENOBSCOT, GREETING :


In the name of the State of Maine you are hereby re- quired to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town of Dexter, qualified by law to vote in town affairs, to assemble at the Town Hall, in said Town, on Monday, the twenty- ninth day of March instant, at nine o'clock in the forenoon, to act on the following articles, viz :


ART. 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said Meet- ing.


ART. 2. To choose a Town Clerk.


ART. 3. To hear all reports to be made at said Meeting.


ART. 4. To choose three or more Selectmen.


ART. 5. To choose three or more Assessors.


ART. 6. To choose three or more Overseers of the Poor.


ART. 7. To choose a Town Treasurer.


ART. 8. To choose a Town Agent.


ART. 9. To choose three Superintending School Commit- tee, or a Supervisor.


ART. 10. To choose a School Agent.


ART. 11. To choose a Collector of Taxes.


ART. 12. To choose a Superintendent of Cemeteries.


ART. 13. To choose all other Town Officers required by law to be chosen at the Annual Town Meeting.


ART. 14. To see if the Town will choose three or more persons to enforce Town Ordinances.

ART. 15. To see how much money the Town will raise to pay Town Charges.


ART. 16. To see how much money the Town will raise for the Fire Department.


ART. 17. To see how much money the Town will raise for support of the Poor.


ART. 18. To see how much money the Town will raise for the support of Schools, and for the Free High School.


ART. 19. To see how much money the Town will raise to purchase School Books and School Material.


ART. 20. To see how much money the Town will raise to make and repair Highways, and how it shall be ex- pended.


ART. 21. To see what method the Town will adopt for breaking Highways, and how the money for this purpose shall be expended.


ART. 22. To see if the Town will vote to adopt the follow- ing Town Ordinance relating to the Dexter Fire Department: All money raised or appropriated for the use or purposes of the Dexter Fire Depart- ment shall be expended under the direction of the Board of Engineers thereof, as they shall deem nec- essary for the maintainance of the Department.


ART. 23. To see whether the Town will build one or more School Houses for a High School, Grammar School or other Schools, and where they shall be located; repair and alter any of the present School Houses; complete any School House already commenced on the original or modified plan; to see what shall be done with the materials on the Town Lot or apper- taining to the School House there commenced, or the work there done; in fine, to take into considera- tion the whole subject of School Houses, and loca- tion of School House lots, and raise money for any of the purposes herein referred to, or act anything relating to the subject matter of this Article.

ART. 24. To see if the Town will vote to raise $300, for the support of Town Library.


ART. 25. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Se- lectmen to let the Medical Attendance of the Poor to the lowest bidder, provided a suitable bid is re- ceived.


ART. 26. To see if the Town will vote to give H. F. Saf- ford Post twenty-five dollars to help defray expens- es Memorial Day.


ART. 27. To see if the Town will vote to let the Town Hall free to H. F. Safford Post for entertainments the en- suing year.


ART. 28. To see if the Town will vote to pay the claims against Wm. M. Hall on account of repairs on the Town Hall, and raise money for the same.


ART. 29. To see what action the Town will take in regard to the Town Hall the ensuing year.


ART. 30. To see if the Town will vote to widen the street from Main street to the end of Levi Morrill and Wm. Eaton road, so called, as located by the Select- men.


ART. 31. To see if the Town will vote to discontinue the Levi Morrill and Wm. Eaton road so called, com- mencing near B. C. Thompson's shop.


ART. 32. To see if the Town will vote to allow the Hay Scales located on Grove street to remain as they now are.


ART. 33. To see if the Town will vote to locate the Town Hearse with H. G. Parshley, or with Brady & Spoon- er, and establish the price for use of same in the Village at $1.50.


ART. 34. To see if the Town will vote to pay Wm. M. Hay- den for land used for road from Moses Hersey's to Benj. Bagley's, and if so, how much.


ART. 35. To see if the Town will vote to tax dogs.

ART. 36. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Se- lectmen to license Pool, Billiard or Scipio Tables, the coming year.


ART. 37. To see what method the Town will adopt for carrying on the Town Farm and Support of the Poor for the ensuing year.


ART. 38. To see if the Town will vote to connect by pipes the Hydrants at the Grist Mill and Abbott's Mill, and place, at least, one double headed Hydrant on the line, and raise money for that purpose.


ART. 39. To see what action the Town will take relative to electing and instructing its Constables for the special duty of removing and caring for Personal property in buildings on fire and endangered by fire, or act anything in relation thereto.


ART. 40. To see if the Town will vote to remove-the open- ings in the reservoirs on Main and Maple streets from the sidewalks.


ART. 41. To see if the Town will vote to cement the new reservoir.


ART. 42. To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to remove fences from within the limits of the streets in cases where the lines have been surveyed and established.


ART. 43. To see if the Town will choose a Board of Health as recommended by the State Board of Health.


You will give notice that the Selectmen will be in ses- sion at their office on Saturday; the twenty-seventh day of March instant, from one until three o'clock in the after- noon, for the purpose of correcting the list of voters.


Hereof fail not, and have you there this warrant with your doings thereon.
