1823 April 6th Lord's day Benjn Cole made public Confession for the sin of !.: drunkenness and was restored to the felorship of the Church.

After conversing with John Cole respecting his being. guilty of drunkenness he acknowledged he had been guilty of this sin and said he mas willing to make a public confession. The Church advised him to postpone a public confession that he might obtain to him- - self and give to others further evidence of the sincerity of his repentance. Lord's day 18th May : Church voted to give Hannah Haskell, who has resided here a humber of years a certificate, stating her regular walk while living here, that she might obtain a dismission from the Church in Newburyportert to which she belongs to this Church ..

to God for direction & considerable conversation respecting Bro. Elijah Dunham the following preamble"& votes were passed.


Whereas our Bro.


Elijah Dunham by a course of disorderly, Christian conduct, of Sufficient notoriety 1 to Supercede the necessity of Specification, has incurred the high censure of the Church of which he is a member violated his covenant engagements and brought great reproach on the cause of our blessed Lord & Saviour ;-


„!"y Whereas for about two years, he has been under the discipline of this Church, without giving evidence of repentance, or being Sensible of his Sin :-


Voted, That our Bro. Elijah Dunham has forfeited all title to the priveleges of membership in the Church of Christ, ;.

Whereas I the Subscriber in consequence of committing the Sin of Fornication, have brought a wound on the cause of re- ligions, guilt on my own conscience, grieved my brethren and sisters in the Church of which I am now a member, & given great occasion for those without to speak reproachfully; with shame and humble penitence I confess this Sin before a God of infinite purity and holiness and before this Church impbring the forgiveness of both; - that G. would grant me pardon and restoring grace to keep me from temptation and Sin of every description in future, and that the Church will grant me forgiveness, and follow me with them prayers, until our pilgrimage on earth shall (?
