Carr School house, shingling, new sills and entry.
Borough School house, plastering.
J. Small School house, plastering and sills.
Wood School house plastering.
Several School houses need painting.
There are 269 boys and girls of school age in the town, of whom there are but about 150 attending school.
Last but not least I would mention the union of the three towns, Bowdoin, Litchfield and Wales to form a Supervisory Union. This was done according to the vote of the towns. As yet this is in an experimental condition for a stranger coming to a new work in so large a field of this kind would find it impossible to more than get his feet placed in the ten months passed. A local man would have some knowledge of the field while a stranger must first learn the territory, then the school with its constituancy and then the people as a whole, with their desires and hopes.
Thanking all who have helped this past year, to make the work as successful as possible and thanking the School Committee for their help and kindness I am,
Very truly yours H. B. AREY,
Superintendent.
