Warrant for Town Meeting


To John A. Haskell, Constable of the Town of New Glouces- ter, in the County of Cumberland and State of Maine : GREETING :


In the name of the State of Maine, you are hereby re- quired to notify and warn the inhabitants of the said Town of New Gloucester, qualified by law to vote in town affairs, to assemble at the Town House in said town of New Glou- cester on Monday, the 10th day of March A. D. 1913, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, to act on the following articles viz :


ARTICLE 1st.


To choose a Moderator to preside over said meeting.


ARTICLE 2nd.


To choose a Clerk for the ensuing year.


ARTICLE 3rd.


To receive and allow accounts.


ARTICLE 4th.


To hear and act on reports.


ARTICLE 5th.


To see if the town will vote to elect a road commissioner.


ARTICLE 6th.


To choose all necessary town officers for the ensuing year.


ARTICLE 7th.


To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for contingent expenses.

To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for the repair of roads and bridges.


ARTICLE 9th.


To see if the town will vote "yes" or "no" upon the adoption of the provisions of Chapter 112 of the Pub- lic Laws of Maine, for the year 1907, as amended by Chap- ter 69, Public Laws 1909, also Chapter 21, Public Laws 1911, and Chapter 183, Public Laws 1911 relating to the ap- propriation of money necessary to entitle the town to State aid for highways for the year 1913.


ARTICLE 10th.


To see if the town will raise and appropriate in addition to the amounts regularly raised and appropriated for the ยท care of ways, highways and bridges, the sum of $500.00 being the maximum amount which the town is allowed to raise under the provisions of Chapter 112 of the Public Laws of Maine for 1907, as amended by Chapter 69, Public Laws of 1909, also Chapter 21, Public Laws 1911, and Chapter 183, Public Laws 1911.

To see what sum the town will vote to raise for the sup- port of schools.


ARTICLE 12th.


To see what sum the town will vote to raise to keep the school property in repair.


ARTICLE 13th.


To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise to purchase school supplies.


ARTICLE 14th.


To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for free text-books.

To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for the support of the High School.


ARTICLE 16th.


To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for the contingent expenses of the High School.


ARTICLE 17th.


To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise to keep the cemeteries in repair.


ARTICLE 18th.


To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise to defray the expense of Memorial Day ; also to see in whose hands it shall be placed to be expended.


ARTICLE 19th.


To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise to . support the Public Library.


ARTICLE 20th.


To see if the town will vote to complete the work on the Intervale Bridge, and how much money the town will vote to raise for that purpose.


ARTICLE 21st.


To see if the town will vote to cut down the hill near the house of Eben Nevens, and how much money the town will vote to raise for that purpose.


ARTICLE 22nd.


To see if the town will vote to accept the mill stones from the first grist mill in town, presented to the town by Will- iam P. True, if so how much money will the town raise for placing and suitably marking the same.


ARTICLE 23rd.


To see if the town will vote to purchase the farm of William P. True, for town purposes and how much money the town will vote to raise for that purpose.

To see if the town will vote to hire a place to keep the town team, and how much the town will vote to raise for that purpose.


ARTICLE 25th.


To see what action the town will take in regard to the management of the town team in winter.


ARTICLE 26th.


To see if the town will vote to accept the sum of $25.00 from Albana P. Burrell to be held in trust, the income of which shall be used for the perpetual care of his lot in Glou- cester Hill Cemetery.


ARTICLE 27th.


To see if the town will vote to allow the Derumquen Council degree of Pocahontas, the use of the town hall at the same price as the Order of Red Men.


ARTICLE 28th.


To see if the town will vote to allow the Derumquen Council to have a doorway cut in the back wall of the town hall and build a wardrobe over the back stairs.


ARTICLE 29th.


To see if the town will vote to let the hall for entertain- ments for charitable purposes for the actual expense.


ARTICLE 30th.


To see if the town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to contract the destroying brown-tail moth nests in the high- way or take any action thereon.


ARTICLE 31st.


To see how much money the town will vote to raise for fighting brown-tail moths.


The Selectman hereby give notice that they will be in session at their office at said New Gloucester on Monday the
