NOTES.
On the 14th day of April, 1865, Gen. Anderson, aided by Sergeant Hart, hoisted on Fort Sumter the identical Flag which the same Sergeant low- ered there when the Fort was surrendered April 14th, 1861. An oration was delivered on the occasion by Rev. Henry Ward Beecher of Brooklyn, New York.
