Second son of James M. and Nancy Burnes born at Leslie, Ingham Co. With parents settled in 1854 in Riley Twp., m. Charlotte Moore, at age 23, who passed away 13 years ago. 26 years ago moved to St. Johns; in 1925, married Frances R. Burnes. Surviving: his widow, 3 dans., Mrs. Lulu V. Krekler of Detroit, Mrs. Dora E. Burnes of Lansing, Mrs. Lottie F. Hastings of Wacousta; 2 grandch: Imogene Hastings and John Burnes Krekler; and stepdaughter, Mrs. Alex W. Macvie of Kalamazoo.

Obit: Elizabeth Campbell was descended from clan Campbell, Scotland; from Governor William Bradford on her mother's side. After marriage they lived at Brookfield until 1878, where Mr. Daboll practiced law and served as dist. attorney for 3 years. Came to St. Johns 1879 where Mr. Daboll entered law practice with Anthony Cook; later appointed Judge of 29th judicial circuit of Mich .; served 102 years. Surviving: dau., Miss Winifred Daboll; sister, Mrs. Anna Bunday, St. Johns.

Bought land on east side of St. Johns, Clinton Co., 1873 and his eldest son, Andrew W. came to St. Johns in fall of 1873 to clear the land. About 1877 Mr. and Mrs. Durkee moved to this farm. (death date not noted on clipping) Surviving: wife and 5 children: A. W., E. A., and F. M. Durkee and Mrs. F. M. Atkinson of St. Johns and F. J. Durkee of Saginaw.
